I Remember my Sensei would tell us the story of Miyamoto Musashi and the monk Takuan Soho and how they sat down with each other in total peace and quiet when a Viper comes across them, first coming across Takuan onto his lap and off as if there was total peace and calm then to Miyamoto Musashi and immediately senses danger and avoided him into the bushes and these thoughts came to their minds as the Viper leaves.

Takuan Soho: His spirit is so aggressive that all living things instinctively fear and avoid him.

Miyamoto Musashi: His spirit is so calm that all living things cross him as if he was lifeless stone, sensing only total peace.
