The time has come to highlight the fantastic events that have made our lives richer over the past month! April has been an extraordinary month indeed! From showcasing skills in a Jiu-Jitsu competition, to celebrating belt promotions, doing privates & to giving our moms an early celebration, every moment has been truly special. Running an academy is far more than just teaching classes. It means stepping into multiple roles every single day—owner, instructor, mentor, event coordinator, problem solver, and marketer—while still showing up on the mats for your own training, and leading from the front.

And despite the demands… we continue to deliver.

This week ss a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We made the trip to Phoenix to support one of our students in competition—because showing up for our team matters.

At the same time, this weekend we will celebrate belt promotions on April 18th, and we’re deep into preparations for our upcoming Mother’s Day event April 25th. This means long hours behind the scenes—we've been putting together gifts, giveaways, and special offers for the moms in our community. It’s time-consuming, and it’s exhausting. But it’s also incredibly fulfilling.

Because at Hydra, our mission goes beyond Jiu-Jitsu.

We’re building something bigger:
A community where people feel seen.
A place where they feel valued.
A team they’re proud to be part of.

We're tired—but very grateful.

Grateful for our team.
Grateful for the opportunity to do what we love.
And grateful for every single person who steps on the mat with us.

This past March had been remarkably successful for numerous students who participated in the JJWL competition, with the team showcasing exemplary performance. Ryan Young delivered a great seminar, and we appreciate those who attended. Additionally, several students advanced to new stripe levels, congratulations. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to new members Jacob, Kaleb, Juda, Dawsyn, and Apollos as they join the Hydra family.
