On Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and never came home.

We remember those who wore the uniform with honor and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

We remember the final goodbyes that families never expected to be their last.

We remember the spouses who lost their partners, the children who grew up without a parent, the parents who buried their sons and daughters, and the brothers and sisters in arms forever changed by the loss of a fellow warrior.

For many families across our nation, Memorial Day is not simply a date on the calendar. It is personal. It is sacred. It is a reminder of sacrifice that never fades with time.

At Military Tee Times, we believe it is important that we pause — even if only for a moment — to reflect upon the extraordinary cost of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

So yes, enjoy the weekend with family and friends. Travel safely. Gather together. Celebrate the freedoms that make this nation extraordinary.

But please also take a moment to remember those who gave everything so that we could.

Because freedom has never been free.

A young woman had been taking golf lessons all week. She’d just begun her first game of golf when she suffered a bee sting. Her pain was so intense, she couldn’t continue her game. She went back to the clubhouse and get some medical attention.

Her golf Pro saw her enter the clubhouse and asked,
“Why are you back so soon?”

“I was stung by a bee,” she answered.

“Where?,” he asked.
“Between the first and second holes,” she replied.

He nodded his head and said, “Then your stance is too wide.”
