🏜️ Sand Caves are located about half way between Zion NP and Kanab on route 89.

This is one of those great on-the-side of the toad attractions that is super fun to explore.

The hiking trail to the bottom of the caves from the parking lot is very short, about .6 miles. The climb to the caves is about 168 feet of elevation gain. However, there are a couple of steep sections that are covered in sand so hiking 🥾 with good traction are strongly recommended.

We really enjoyed climbing around and also talking to a few people at the top. Strongly recommend making a stop here if you have time to explore and if you feel good physically that day.

The parking lot is pretty big and could accommodate a couple of good size RVs.

🎸🎺 “We’re getting the band back together”! - Jake. The Blues Brothers.

Well we are more like starting a new band because neither one of us has ever played any music instruments. 🥁🤪

But one thing that we try to embrace while living the RV life is to learn something completely new every now and then. Learning new things and getting out of the comfort zone is what makes us grow, learn and hopefully have fun during the process. It goes well with full time RV life. 😂

I (Dom) have always wanted to learn to play Didgeridoo and also for the longest time wanted to explore Australia. We just might be adding that to our list of RV explorations.

Kyra fell in love with Ukulele after we visited the Music Mountain Instruments in Westcliffe CO.

🎶 Blue Mesa Music Store in Gunnison CO was so awesome to deal with when choosing our new instruments. We also promised to give them a show in a year from now when we return to Gunnison. 😃 So the clock ⏰ is on but no pressure.

🚵‍♀️🏜️Hurricane Cliffs trails are just a few miles out of the town and so much riding to choose from.

A well known Gooseberry Mesa trails are next door as well.

It’s a great feeling being back on the trails after weeks of not riding due to travel and busy schedules.

Why does six weeks of not riding feels like six months?! 🤔🤪

🌵Red Hills Desert Garden 🪴 St. George Utah

There is so much to do and see in SW Utah and St. George is a great town to explore, eat, drink, visit historic places and shop. It’s unbelievable.

The Red Hills Desert Garden is a free garden to explore and learn about all kinds of cactuses 🌵.

On top of that being the month of October, full Halloween 🎃 spirit is in the air with Halloween 👻 exibits.

If you haven’t been to St. George area I would definitely add it to your list.

🚵‍♂️ Starting the workday day with a ride.

In all of the years of mountain biking I have never gone out to ride in the morning before work. However I have ridden early in the morning but only on weekends.

A coworker of mine is visiting the area for a wedding and we happen to be working on the same project at work. So naturally we decided to have our weekly sync meeting outside on the trail.

What a great start to a new day and new challenges!

⛰️ Kolob Reservoir Utah ⛰️

Shout out to Somewhere.Down.The.Road for telling us about this landmark. Thank you 🤗

What’s interesting about the reservoir is that it sits at 8,900’ of elevation so generally the temps are 20 degrees cooler than the Zion NP or Virgin.

This is a beautiful paved scenic 25 mile drive to the top.

We were looking to explore scenic areas since we rode MTBs on Saturday and were cooked. We haven’t ridden MTB in over six weeks. 😰

This was a great scenic drive with hiking available around the reservoir. Little Drac had a fun time with his family.

🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️ Our first MTB ride in over six weeks. 😰

Life’s been busy with travel. Over 2,000 miles in six weeks and most of that travel was not for adventure or leisure.

But we are now back in Utah and we are super excited to explore areas that we didn’t get to explore during our last visit here which was over 2 years ago.

Looking forward to getting back into MTB and all adventure things.

Have you heard of Kolob Canyons in Utah? The 5 mile drive takes you through the canyons and breath taking views.

This scenic drive was not busy at all and there’s plenty of places to pull over for photos.

At the end of the scenic drive there is a hiking trailhead called Timber Creek Trail. This trail is less than a mile long and has about 300 feet of elevation gain. The scenic drive is conveniently accessed from I-15 south of Cedar City if you’re heading south.

Good enough for today…. 🙌

I (Dom) wish I knew then what I know today. It takes time so make sure you allow your self enoug time to grow and improve.

RV life is really good about throwing new things at ya but small steps and small wins are for a long haul.
