The Oregon Kids Triathlon celebrated a major milestone on Aug. 8, marking its 20th anniversary with 529 young athletes swimming, biking and running their way through one of Oregon’s favorite summer traditions.

How about a shout-out for one of the coolest young entrepreneurs around?! 👏🎨

If you stopped by the OKT Expo Friday night, chances are you saw a LOT of kids walking around sporting some pretty awesome airbrush tattoos thanks to Dec’s Designs!

Dec’s Designs was started by Declan, a young entrepreneur who wanted to make parties, celebrations and community events more fun by creating wearable art that makes people smile and lets them show off their style.

Declan and his family joined us at the OKT Expo, and to say the kids loved it would be an understatement! The tattoo station was a hit all night, and we absolutely love seeing a young person take an idea, turn it into a business and get out into the community doing something he enjoys.

Thank you, Declan & family, for bringing a little extra fun (and a whole lot of fresh ink 😎) to our 20th OKT Expo!

OKT 2026: BY THE NUMBERS! 🏊‍♀️🚴🏃‍♂️

We knew this year was BIG…but seeing it all in numbers makes it even better! 🤯

From 529 young athletes and 200+ incredible volunteers, to more than 1,500 spectators cheering them on, the 20th Oregon Kids Triathlon was one for the books.

Our athletes collectively swam, biked and ran nearly 1,872 miles (that’s a LOT of little legs), represented communities near and far, and we even had athletes travel all the way from London, UK! 🇬🇧

Thank you to every athlete, family, volunteer, sponsor, vendor and spectator who showed up and made our 20th year so special. This event simply wouldn't be what it is without all of you.
