Right on the Louisiana line, Southeast Texas hides a bayou world that feels like another planet. 🌿 Tony Houseman State Park and Wildlife Management Area near Orange protects bottomland forest, cypress sloughs, and quiet backwater channels along the Neches and Sabine region.

This is a place for paddlers, birders, and anglers who like their adventures slow and wild. 🛶 Look for herons, egrets, turtles, and the occasional alligator sunning along the banks, with Spanish moss hanging over the dark water.

Access and activities here can change with water levels, hunting seasons, and weather, so check the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website for current conditions, entry rules, and area closures before you go. 🐊 Bring bug spray, plenty of water, and a good map.
