The final .22 CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) shooting competition was held August 1. We had 10 shooters again, our thanks to the guys from WI Rapids for coming. Thanks to Connie Gabrilska for most of the pics & thanks to Warren & Clark Gabrilska for their competition experience and Jason Fisher for setting up. It was a good time.

Tomorrow is our 3rd & final .22 competition for 2026. Be there by 8:30 for the competitors meeting.

We have 1 spot open for the Hunter Internet Field Day on 8/15 and 3 spots still open on 9/12. If interested please go to the DNR Go Wild App and sign up under Hunter Safety Courses, look up Winnebago for County and will see Poygan Conservation Club and then enroll. The student will need to take the internet course and pass prior to attending the Field course, the internet course once passed will give you a class completion certificate, this will be needed to attend the field course.

We will be taking over for Critter and we'll be hosting the Kids Fishing contest in 2027 on the Sunday during Sovereign State Days.

We will no longer have our Kids Fisheree in June.

Congratulations to an awesome young archer!

The Winneconne Youth Archery Club is proud to congratulate 2026 S3DA Eastern Outdoor Target National Junior Eagle Female Barebow Champion, Clara Miller!

Clara worked hard at the Championship in Evansville, IN, scoring a personal best to edge out the competition and claim her title in her final season as a Junior Eagle.
Way to go, Clara!

The CMP .22 SHOOT was hot, but fun. The scores & some photos follow. Last shoot for 2026 is Aug 1. C'mon out and have some fun on the range.

The June 20 Kid's Fisheree was a lot of fun! We had 27 kids who caught 54 fish total. The biggest was a 26" channel catfish caught by Brooks and Colton caught 8 fish - the most of any of the kids. There was a tie for the smallest fish - Walker and Jaero each caught a 5 1/2" perch.
The parents, grandparents and all the kids seemed to have a blast and the members of the Poygan Conservation Club had a lot fun putting it together. Thanks to all that came & participated.

Thank you as well to Jason Kohls, a fisheries biologist from the DNR, for answering the kids Q's and helping to make a great for a great day.

Note: In 2027, we will be joining with Critter's Sports and co-sponsoring the Kid's Fisheree on Sunday of the Sovereign State Days weekend. More details next year.
