I've been so busy with trail work, I haven't been down by the trail entrance for a month or two. Finally got down there today and the trailhead sign is up!

The new sign pays homage to the trail's most generous supporter, Winnebago Bicycle. Under previous owner Ben and now Sean, the shop has been instrumental in raising funds for the trail from day one.

If you need anything cycling related please stop by the shop. Sean and crew will take great care of you!

Thank you to everyone else who has supported the trail over the years, you are much appreciated!

The trail received some rather extensive storm damage this past week. Over the past couple of days I managed to get most of the large branches and trees removed, but there is still a lot of small sticks and debris littering the trail. Next time you head out for a hike or ride, please take a few minutes and help clean up a bit. There is still a very large tree down near the bridge on Hwy 116 on the small section of trail that can be easily bypassed. After hours of cutting and clearing, I left this for another day. If I missed any others please let me know. There are more than a few "widow makers" hung up in the canopy that will be making their way down in the near future. I will deal with them as they fall. The trail remains very wet and will require another day or two of dry, less humid weather before its ridable - I will keep you posted. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help with the clean up, I appreciate it! I'm out of town next week, but will be back at it when I return.

The renovations are finally finished and the park looks amazing! The trail is now accessible at the south end of the pond. Mother nature is being extremely kind, so stop out to admire the improvements and enjoy a few laps!

The trail has been cleared and is drying out. Still pretty slimy - I'm three inches taller from the clay that's stuck to my shoes. I'll probably open it under caution tomorrow, but expect slow and slick conditions to persist. Thanks

Today's strong winds really brought down the leaves. I plan on clearing the trail after Sunday's rain.

Finished up the final piece of the new lower entry trail today. Still needs a little more clean up, but it will be ready for tires once the park reopens.

Over the past few weeks we cut a new entrance corridor through the jungle, removed and relocated a boulder field and leveled the tread out with dirt. The new lower entrance is ready for when the park reopens. A big thanks to Brad for helping expedite this project - I'd still be out there pushing rocks around if it wasn't for his help. Please avoid this area until the construction is finished and the lower parking lot is back open. Thanks!
