Final Push – We’re So Close!

We are in the final stretch of fundraising for our National Outdoor Leadership School expedition, and we need your help to get across the finish line.

We have until Friday, May 1, to finalize funding, and we are just $900 away from covering our remaining travel costs like fuel, lodging, and meals as we make the journey to Vernal, Utah, and back home to Olney.

Students from Olney High School’s Student Council and National Honor Society… Will Stewart needs your support for Olney HS Student Leadership Canoe Expedition

We are excited to be inching closer to our OHS Leads Out National Outdoor Leadership School course this summer!

This June, a group of Olney High School students will take part in our inaugural leadership expedition with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). They will canoe 68 miles of the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon in Utah while learning what it truly means to lead through navigation, decision-making, teamwork, and responsibility in the outdoors.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, family, and friends, our tuition is already fully funded. That support alone is something we don’t take lightly.

We are now raising funds to help cover travel expenses (fuel, meals, lodging) for the trip. Any additional support will go directly toward building a sustainable fund to help future students have this same opportunity in 2028 and beyond.

This program is about more than a trip; it’s about giving students real responsibility, real challenges, and real leadership experience that will stay with them long after they return home.

Welcome to Olney High School Leads Out!

We’re a new student leadership program bringing together leaders from across campus for a biennial expedition with NOLS.

This June, our inaugural group will canoe 68 miles of the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon in Utah, learning to lead as designated leaders, active followers, peer leaders, and self-leaders. Students will take on real responsibility in navigation, risk management, camp setup, and group dynamics.

Like our trips for AP Biology over at , this program is made possible by the incredible support of the Olney community. We’re proud to share that tuition for this year’s trip is fully funded, thank you. Each donation means the world to us and often when I open the envelope, they bring me to a pause, just to be grateful for the donation, the opportunities, and the gratification that I get from seeing these students experience so much that would be impossible without the financial backing we get.

We’re now solely raising funds for travel (fuel, meals, lodging) to complete our trip this summer, and any extra will help support future students in 2028.
