This is one of those messages that stops you in your tracks.
A former MROC member who trained with us for several years before retiring and moving out of state recently reached out to share this with us.
We talk a lot about getting stronger. Moving faster. Building endurance. Setting PRs. Doing things today that you couldn’t do six months ago.
But this is the stuff that really matters.
Years of consistently showing up and training didn’t prevent him from developing a serious heart condition. But according to what his doctors told him, the fitness he built helped his body adapt by developing additional pathways for blood flow around a completely blocked artery.
Now he has surgery ahead of him, and we’ll be rooting for him every step of the way.
When we opened MROC in 2014, we wanted to build a place where people could become stronger and more capable for whatever life threw at them.
Messages like this put that mission into perspective.
Train for the race. Train for the PR. Train to look and feel better. But most importantly, train for life. ❤️
