๐ข Listen up, all my Florida peeps!
Here's a topic that needs to be discussed if we want to keep and protect our natural resources here in the beautiful State of Florida. I don't know if you've seen this guy around Facebook, but he's a huge advocate for "Wild Florida" and slowing the pace of development, which is incredibly important for our state.
If development continues at the rate it's going, there may come a day when there isn't much "Wild Florida" left. The natural green spaces, parks, preserves, conservation areas, and the beautiful outdoors that make Florida so special could become a thing of the past. And once those places are gone, much of the wildlife that depends on them will disappear too.
Then what?
We'll be living in, or visiting, a state that's covered in concrete, asphalt, and manufactured green spaces, with very little wildlife left to enjoy. Doesn't sound very inviting, does it?
Election season is just around the corner, and we'll soon be choosing a new Governor. Now is the time to start paying attention to the candidates. Learn where they stand. Do your research. Ask the tough questions.
We have an opportunity to help shape Florida's future, but only if we elect leaders who are willing to stand up and protect the natural beauty that makes this state so unique. Overdevelopment isn't something we can undo once it's happened.
Please vote.
