Well took a later than normal shot at the otherside and had a great day. Found birds and fish immediately, was busy all day. Caught a total of 11 yft, 6 shorts, but 3 over 50 with a 72 and 75, 5 or 6 bft, couple skippys. Forgot to post last weeks trip….ugh….went Saturday looking for mangoes…first spot and Rhodan doesn’t want to work, awesome start, back to anchoring. Picked at a few but never really got them going. Moved several places looking, Jeremy Smith hollered at me and said he was on a good red eye bite so went and squeezed in on him lol. Kept moving, tried a trigger spot from last year and was on fire. Day 2 of weekend, bottom fished most of the day. Spent a little time prospecting and looking for mangoes. Found scattered fish everywhere and a spot with some of the best grade of red snapper I have seen. Day 1 of a double down weekend….decided to check on the tuna. Found one bird pack but was pretty slow but fished them better part of the day. Did get one nice fish to hit and it went 70lbs. Fished a weedline for a few minutes and caught a nice bull that weighted 28lbs. Ended up with the one yft, 5 blackfins, skippy and the dolphin. Decided to do a mahi trip and haven’t done one in years. Took a beating on the ride and struggled hard for the first part of the day with the winds and scattered weeds. Only had 2 fish at 1:00, kept grinding and found a pocket of fish and picked away at them until a log floated by and we bailed around 20 head in the boat…ended up with 32 mahi up to 25lbs, 2 triple tail,2bft and 4 snappers in the eep permit turned into a epic day with a epic crew .
