Small businesses supporting small businesses is what community is all about!
We absolutely love seeing our local businesses show up for one another, and yesterday was a perfect example of the kind of community spirit that makes North Vernon so special!
Midwest TCG Co hosted a special event celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the ‘Pokémon’ Trading Card Game, offering significant discounts and giving local Pokémon and trading card fans plenty of reasons to stop by. And they certainly showed up! Before the doors even opened, a line of excited customers wrapped around the building as seen in their photo below!
But what made the day even better was seeing other North Vernon small businesses jump in to support the event and those attending.
🍦 Rock Billy’s Ice Cream handed out a three gallons of free ice cream to those waiting in line!
🥋 Hoosier MMA joined in by offering free classes to people attending the event!
🍫 And other businesses like Hidden Brambles Chocolate Cafe were already brainstorming ways to keep the excitement going, including new products and ideas that could appeal to the same customers and bring even more people downtown.
This is exactly what we love to see: businesses finding creative ways to support one another instead of simply operating alongside one another. When one local business has a big day, others step up, join the fun, and help turn it into something that benefits our entire downtown.
Every person who comes to North Vernon for one business has the opportunity to discover another, grab something to eat, do a little shopping, get some exercise in, or find a place they may have never visited before. This kind of collaboration helps everyone grow!
Congratulations to Midwest TCG Co. on such an exciting turnout, and a huge thank you to all of the businesses that helped make the day even more memorable. We love seeing this in Downtown North Vernon!
