Phoenix Arts

Phoenix Arts An all inclusive, all ability dance studio located in Norristown, Pa! Offering a wide range of classes from walking through to adult!

Speciality classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acro, All Boys Classes, and Toddler Dance! Phoenix Arts, formerly known as LeRoux School of the Arts, was established in 2009 in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center in Conshohocken, PA, under the direction of Miss Susie. What began as a small but vibrant dance studio with approximately 130 students and a dedicated competition team of

30 dancers quickly became a beloved part of the community. In 2017, the shopping center was sold to new developers, and our studio space was included in the redevelopment plans. With only two months to relocate and rebuild, Phoenix Arts made a bold move to Blue Bell, Montgomery County—transforming part of Miss Susie’s home into a fully functioning, home-based dance studio. What began as a temporary solution has since blossomed into a thriving arts community. Today, Phoenix Arts serves nearly 250 enrolled students and has welcomed over 2,000 children through its camps and after-school programs. The intimacy and accessibility of our home-based setting have created a warm, family-friendly environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Our presence in Blue Bell has allowed us to expand our offerings and deepen our connection to the local community. Rising from the challenges of relocation, Phoenix Arts was reborn—more inclusive, more affordable, more convenient, and more committed than ever to our mission. We are super excited to welcome another community in Norristown in January 2026 at our second location! We are thrilled to be expanding and spreading our mission across Montgomery County! At Phoenix Arts, we are dedicated to providing high-quality instruction in the performing arts, with a strong focus on dance and fitness for students of all ages and abilities. Our programs include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Theater, and Acro for both children and adults. We also proudly offer All Boys Classes, Special Needs Services, and toddler programs that blend dance, music, and tumbling. We invite you to be part of the Phoenix Arts family and join us as we continue to spread the joy and love of dance in our community.

Sunday with Miss Susie ❤️

Today would have been my dad’s 80th birthday.

I wrote something for him personally today, but I realized there’s a part of his story that belongs here too—because there are pieces of Phoenix Arts that exist because of him.

Growing up, dance wasn’t something my family could always just afford.

So my dad found a way.

He took pictures for my dance studio in exchange for my lessons.

At the time, I was just a kid who wanted to dance. I didn’t understand what that really meant. I didn’t understand the pride you sometimes have to put aside as a parent, or how determined you become when your child loves something and you refuse to let money be the reason they can’t have it.

I understand it now.

And it’s one of the biggest reasons I give scholarships at Phoenix Arts.

Because someone once found a way for me.

My dad taught me that a child’s opportunity shouldn’t disappear just because their family can’t write the check. Sometimes people just need someone willing to say, we’ll figure it out.

And then there are dance pictures.

For years after my dad passed in 2012, I couldn’t do them.

He had always taken them.

Dance pictures weren’t just dance pictures to me. They were him. His camera. His thing. One more place where his absence felt way too big.

Eventually, I found my way back to them. But even now, when picture time comes around, a part of me will always think about the man behind the camera who made sure his daughter got to keep dancing.

There are so many things about the way I run Phoenix that I thought were simply me.

The older I get, the more I realize how much of it is actually him.

Find a way.

Give the kid the opportunity.

Help when you can.

Believe in them.

And always, always show up.

So on what would have been your 80th birthday, Pop, I hope you know that you’re still showing up here.

Every scholarship.

Every kid who gets an opportunity they might not otherwise have had.

Every picture.

Every time I find a way.

There’s a little bit of you in all of it.

Happy 80th birthday to my very first biggest fan. ❤️

✨ STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: TEAGAN ✨

Some students don’t just grow up at Phoenix Arts… they grow up with Phoenix Arts. ❤️‍🔥

Teagan started with us at just 3 years old, taking Ballet & Tap before adding Jazz in her early years. As she grew, so did her love for dance—eventually expanding into every technique class we offer and becoming the incredibly versatile dancer she is today.

At just 12 years old, Teagan stepped into a new role as an assistant, learning that being part of Phoenix is about so much more than what happens on stage. Today, she’s one of our Junior Instructors, helping lead classes, working alongside our younger dancers, and playing a huge role in running our summer camps.

But the best part of Teagan’s story? Somewhere along the way, she stopped feeling like just a student.

She became family. 🥹

We’ve had the privilege of watching her grow from a tiny 3-year-old in ballet shoes into a dancer, teacher, role model, and young woman we are so incredibly proud of.

This is what Phoenix Arts is all about. ❤️‍🔥
Growing dancers. Growing leaders. Growing up together.

We love you, Teagan. 🫶
