🐣❤️ 15 DAYS OLD & TAKING OVER CIRCLE C ACRES! 🐔🌻
I cannot believe Faith’s four little babies are already 15 days old! It feels like we were just anxiously waiting for those eggs to hatch, and now these little fluffballs are growing like weeds, developing their own personalities, and getting more adventurous every single day! 🥹❤️
Today’s photo dump and videos are full of cuteness, milestones, and some exciting firsts!
📸 PHOTO 1 – MOMMA FAITH & HER FOUR BABIES
Faith has been an absolutely AMAZING first-time momma! She’s attentive, protective, and constantly teaching her babies how to be chickens. They’ve been spending more time outside exploring, scratching, pecking, and following Momma around. Watching her raise these babies naturally has been one of my favorite experiences with our flock!
🐥 PHOTOS 2–5 – INDIVIDUAL BABY UPDATES!
All four babies are growing so fast, and their little wing and tail feathers are really starting to come in!
💛 Baby #1: Our golden/buff baby with beautiful darker markings! Those patterned wing feathers are coming in so nicely, and this little one is getting more adorable by the day!
🩶 Baby #2: Our blue-gray baby! Growing some impressive little wing feathers and starting to look more like a miniature chicken instead of a tiny ball of fluff!
🤎 Baby #3: Our smoky brown/taupe baby with the sweetest coloring and adorable feathered feet! This one has five toes and is showing off some strong Silkie characteristics!
🖤 Baby #4: Our black baby with the cutest little cream-colored face! This one also has five toes and feathered feet, but the most exciting part is those FEATHERS! 👀 We’re becoming more and more convinced this baby may be a FRIZZLE! The wing and tail feathers are starting to turn outward, so we’re watching closely as they grow. Fingers crossed this little cutie turns out to be a frizzled hen! 🤞😍
One of the sweetest things I’ve watched is Faith teaching her babies how to dust bathe in the sand! Watching Momma roll around, fluff her feathers, and show her babies what to do is absolutely hilarious and adorable. They’re learning all these natural chicken behaviors just by watching her!
🐔 AND TODAY WAS A BIG DAY FOR OUR FLOCK!
For the FIRST TIME, I let Faith and her four babies out to mingle with the rest of our chickens while I supervised!
And y’all… it went SO WELL! ❤️
The other hens were curious and came right up to investigate the babies. Everyone was surprisingly gentle, and Faith allowed them to interact while keeping a very watchful eye on her little crew.
Shania was especially sweet checking everyone out! 🥹
Now, don’t get me wrong… Momma Faith is NOT afraid to put somebody in their place! 😂 Martina apparently got a little too close for comfort and Faith made sure she knew who was in charge!
She’s happy to let everyone mingle, but she’s definitely still in protective momma mode!
For now, the babies will continue staying safely in their nursery when I’m not outside supervising. We’ll keep working on slow, positive introductions until they’re bigger and ready to officially join the flock.
I’m so proud of how well everyone did today!
These babies are the result of our Silkie × Frizzle hatch, and it has been SO much fun watching their different colors, feather types, and personalities develop. We still don’t know who’s a boy or girl, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some little ladies! 🤞🐣
Between the dust baths, outdoor adventures, and meeting their chicken aunties, these four had a BIG day!
I never imagined I’d enjoy raising baby chickens this much, but here we are… completely obsessed! 😂❤️
