If you were to look up the definition of the word embody, you’d find something along the lines of, “be an expression of or give a tangible or visible form to…”

So where does the juiciness that is Embodiment play a roll? Embodiment is the representation or expression of something in a tangible or visible form. Embodiment is a felt sense, a catalyst and a totem in real time... and living it’s best life in our bodies.

One of our favorite ways to explore this at Thrive is through our movement, especially sensual movement… free flowing, sensual movement. For us, embodied sensual movement helps to surface information, gain clarity when thinking just doesn’t quite cut it, and provide generous feed back to all we need to know in any moment, at any given time.

Energy doesn’t lie, and being able to drop down into our bodies as a compass, is one of the greatest tools we can gift ourself. And for me...it’s really the only way.

We’ve all done it before. The compliment that starts from a genuinely good place and somehow ends with a condition attached to it.

“You look amazing for your age.” Or “She looks so good for having a baby that recently.”

We truly mean well, but somewhere in there, even the kindest words can carry a quiet message that a body needs a qualifier to be worthy of praise.

And not everyone is in a place to receive even the most well intentioned comment about their physical appearance. Bodies are complicated, and our relationships to them even more so.

At Thrive we are big fans of body love always. But we also believe we can go deeper than that.

What if we complimented the way someone moves through the world instead of the way they move through a room?

This list is a place to start. Save it. Use it. Pass it on.

What’s your favorite compliment to give or receive? Drop it below. ✨

People hear “pole studio” and think they know what we do here.

They’re not wrong about the pole. But they’re missing everything else.

We’re not in the business of fitness. We’re in the business of helping women come home to themselves, one class, one breath, one moment of pure uninhibited expression at a time.

That’s what we make here. And it’s been changing lives since day one.

The waitlist is open for the Beginner Experience. It all starts by clicking the link in our bio. ✨

We get this question a lot and we love it every time because it means you’re curious. 🤍

Drop-ins just can’t serve you the way you deserve to be served here. So instead, we created something better.

This is something that is draining not only your bank account but also your bank of energy…

FEAR

Fear is EXPENSIVE

When we make choices and manifest from a space of fear, you are contracted in your body and in your system. When we are contracted we rely on adrenaline hormones to pump us and push us through. This leaves us more depleted and deflated rather than fulfilled and nurtured.

These things are also present in us when we are in fight or flight.

When we are manifesting, magnetizing, and calling in, we want to move towards the things we are clearing the path for not run away from it.

We want to lean into the “feel good” hormones like oxytocin, dopamine, things that lead through pleasure rather than that contracted state.

If you are taking a job or your saying “no” in a sense of self care based in fear, it is only going to cause you more stress and cost you more energy than if we allow ourselves to be rich in our choices that come from pleasure.

Bottom line is that pleasure is E X P A N S I V E while fear is expensive.

What if instead of journaling tonight, you just danced?

Not because journaling doesn’t work, but because some things don’t have words yet. Some things just have weight and the body has a way of processing what the mind is still trying to name.

We were never taught this. We were taught to think our way through hard things. To write it out, talk it out, logic our way to the other side. And sometimes that works beautifully.

But sometimes you need to move through it instead.

At Thrive, this is what we mean when we talk about embodiment. Not just dancing, but using movement as a way to access the parts of yourself that words can’t reach.

The grief that sits in the hips. The tension that’s been living in your shoulders for months. The anger that coils in the belly. The joy that hasn’t had anywhere to go and finally finds its way out through your fingertips, your spine, the way you finally let your head fall back and just breathe.

Your body already knows how to do this. It’s been doing it your whole life. We’re just giving it the space.

Come move with us. Beginner Experience waitlist is open. Link in bio. ✨
