What an incredible weekend for Newport Track & Field at the State Championships!
The Newport boys team placed 11th overall, the highest team finish in recent memoryβa tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and determination of these athletes!
β State Highlights β
π₯ Lucas Croswhite had an outstanding meet, finishing as State Runner-Up in the 110M Hurdles with a personal record time of 14.38! Lucas also earned another 2nd-place State finish in Pole Vault, clearing 13' 6".
Jonathan Hill placed 11th in the 400M with a time of 53.02.
Dax Hansen earned a 7th-place finish in Triple Jump with a leap of 40'1".
Rayben Jurgens placed 9th in Discus with a throw of 138'2".
Nathan Donati finished 14th in Javelin with a throw of 130'.
β‘ The Boys 4x100 Relay Team (Dax Hansen, Lucas Croswhite, Kale Markwardt, and Aidan Kramer) ran a season-best 43.95 PR in the finals to place 7th in State!
β‘ The Boys 4x400 Relay Team (Dax Hansen, Jonathan Hill, Tanner Rheinford, and Lucas Croswhite) also earned a 7th-place State finish, running 3:35.97 in the finals.
Olivia Collins placed 9th in the 3200M with a time of 12:25.31.
Joelle Brandtner had an outstanding weekend, placing 11th in Long Jump and earning a 6th-place State medal in Triple Jump with a jump of 34'2".
β‘ The Girls 4x100 Relay Team (Joelle Brandtner, Allysah Bays, Hailey Davison, and Savannah Garris) placed 11th overall with a time of 52.97.
