We are beyond excited to announce that our 2027 Newport PRCA Rodeo Queen applications are officially open!

If you are between the ages of 18 years to 24 years of age or a Senior in high school as of November 1, 2026 preceding the competition year and reside in the following Counties: Pend Oreille, Stevens, Bonner, Spokane, and Kootenai counties of Washington and Idaho.

What a way to wrap up an unforgettable year!
For my last rodeo, I traveled all the way down to Southern California, for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo. What an incredible experience! It was nice to see familiar faces from last year and meet so many new ones!
One of the many things I’m grateful for this trip was being able to trailer my horse, Ruby, all the way down to California and actually ride in the rodeo this year!
This year has brought so many miles traveled, rodeos attended, parades participated in, and incredible events that I’ll forever be grateful for. Representing the Newport Rodeo this year has been such an honor and an experience I’ll cherish for a lifetime. It has given me opportunities to meet amazing people, build lasting friendships, make beautiful memories, and be part of something so much bigger than myself.
That’s the beauty of the rodeo trail. It’s not just about the places you go, but the people you meet, the friendships you make, and the memories you carry with you long after the event is over. Every mile has been worth it, and my heart is so full thinking about all the incredible people, opportunities, and experiences this year has brought me.
I will be forever grateful for this journey, for every opportunity, every familiar face, every new friendship, for the chance to represent the Newport Rodeo this year, and for the blessing of being able to have Ruby by my side through it all. What a year it has been!
Here’s to the miles traveled, the memories made, the horse who made it all the more special, and the friendships that make the rodeo trail feel like one big happy family.

As the year winds down, one of the final rodeos I attended was the Spokane Interstate Fair and Rodeo!

Zoe Montgomery has been such a light and an incredible friend throughout this entire year. I’m so grateful that our titles brought us together and gave us the opportunity to travel together, make memories, and get to know one another. These are the friendships that make this journey so special, and I’m beyond thankful for ours!

A huge thank you to Zoe, the Spokane Interstate Fair and Rodeo staff, the volunteers, and everyone who works behind the scenes to make this rodeo such an incredible event. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed!

What an incredible Gem State Stampede! Five nights of rodeo and 10 days of Fun!
One of the highlights of the week was getting to meet Miss Rodeo Idaho and Miss Rodeo Mississippi and spending time with so many wonderful rodeo queens. We had the opportunity to tour beautiful Wallace Idaho, and visit the Sierra Silver Mine. Going underground and learning about the history of mining, the equipment, and the different techniques used throughout the industry was such a unique experience.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night was another unforgettable evening. I had so much fun riding in the barrel truck with all of the girls and being part of such a special night. I also had the opportunity to meet John Crimber which was definitely a highlight!
A huge thank you to Miss Gem State Stampede 2026 Novalee Haney for hosting such a wonderful Queen Luncheon! We enjoyed watching the draft horse show while getting a chance to sit and catch up with one another. I then headed out to explore the fair and stop by one of my amazing sponsors, Spin ‘Em Rodeo Co
The Gem State Stampede and the North Idaho State fair hold a very special place in my heart. I spent 11 years participating in 4-H at this fair and have attended this rodeo every year since I was five years old. To now experience it as a rodeo queen is a dream come true.
In the last picture in the slideshow, you’ll see a little piece of where it all began. The last photo is of me and my favorite pack goat, Rufus, back when I was in 4-H and showing at the Idaho State Fair. If you look a little closer, you’ll notice something pretty special I’m wearing a crown and sash that says Little Miss Gem State Stampede!
From showing my pack goat Rufus in 4-H and being Little Miss Gem State Stampede to now being the Newport Rodeo Queen and experiencing the Gem State Stampede from a whole new perspective, it truly feels like I’ve come full circle.
I’m incredibly grateful for the memories, friendships, and experiences this year’s Gem State Stampede brought. Thank you so much to the North Idaho State Fair foundation, the Gem State Stampede Rodeo Board, and all of the staff and volunteers that make this Fair and rodeo possible.

I had a blast making new friends at camp Ka-Mee-Lin! A huge thank you to the Post Falls, Parks and Recreation for allowing me the opportunity to join the fun and talk about rodeo and horses!

Day three of the Omak stampede! We started off the day with an amazing Queen’s Luncheon. A huge thank you to Kayden Coffey for your incredible hospitality and kindness! It was so much fun getting to chat, enjoy some delicious food, and take some fun photos afterward.
Following the luncheon, we headed over to the Indian Encampment and watched some incredible dancing, We even got to join in for a few songs!
We then spent some time walking around and visiting the local artisan booths. There was so much beautiful artwork and jewelry to admire, and it was wonderful getting to support and appreciate the talented artists!
I once again had the honor of carrying the Okanogan County Cattlemen’s flag!
We rounded off the night with an amazing rodeo, followed by a super fun autograph session and, of course, even more photos!

My second day in Omak was packed full of excitement!
We started the day with a little golfing, then headed over to the famous Su***de Race Hill to take some photos. After that, we made our way into town and visited the museum to learn more about the history of the Omak Stampede. Then we rounded out the day with a stop at Rawson’s!
All in all, it was a day filled with great friends, plenty of fun, loads of laughs, and so many new memories!
