Another very productive day of local bottom Fishing out of City Island, New York. Sailing daily at 8 AM returning back at 3 PM and every evening 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM. It is strongly recommend recommended purchasing tickets in advance through the Boats website at islandcurrent.com.

🎣 ISLAND CURRENT FLEET — OFFSHORE DEEP DROP GOLDEN TILEFISH REPORT 🎣

Capt. Scott called in to report on Sunday night’s Deep Drop Golden Tilefish Trip aboard the 76’ ISLAND CURRENT III.

The ride offshore started out with some choppy seas, and the morning bite was definitely on the slow side, with only a couple of fish coming over the rails on each drift.

By midday, the ocean conditions flattened out nicely, and Capt. Scott made a move to a different area. That proved to be the right decision as we finally started developing a much better bite, seeing 10–15 quality fish per drift toward the latter part of the day.

Unfortunately, just as the fishing started coming together, we ran out of time and had to begin the ride home.

Overall, it was a very nice day offshore. The ocean conditions ended up being fine, and although the bite could have been much better, Capt. Scott and the crew worked hard, made the most of the conditions, and thankfully found the fish late in the day.
