Personal request directly to each league commissioner and league President.
As you know, baseball and softball have been under attack in some New York City parks for some time now. We are being removed from our naturally shaped oval fields, which were designed and built for our sport. Active play is being reduced and, in some cases, stopped, leaving us with less and less time and places to play. In some cases, multiple sports are now being played on our fields. This is not because of unverified field shortages; our fields are targeted because they are more convenient for someone with ties to the permit office.
We need to unite and support each other. Please sign this petition and share it with your teams, friends, and family. Permit renewals are coming up, and more removals and reductions will follow if we don't push back hard right now.
We need a massive response to get the City Council to act. If we come together and support this petition, the baseball-softball community can and will stop the removals and replacements. Please Sign it, share it, and ask your friends and family to sign it.
