hallstatt on a beautiful day in october 2021 it’s somewhat crazy to think that the last time i visited hallstatt was in 2021, despite it being only a two-hour drive away from where i live. in the meantime, i‘ve been to nyc three different times.

two weeks ago we flew to naples to explore the city for a few days. beforehand, i couldn’t quite decide whether to bring my digital setup with multiple lenses or my new konica hexar rf with the voigtländer nokton 35mm f1.4. in the end, i decided to go with the film camera.

it was the best decision i could have made. having only one lens and the limited nature of film forces you to truly interact with your subject. it makes you think deeply about composition and lighting while being much more selective with your shots.

to anyone who only shoots digital, i highly recommend getting a film camera and embracing those gear limitations. i really believe it will improve your overall photography and, most importantly, it’s so much fun.
