the pop girl to ugly boyfriend pipeline is finally broken

I'm sorry but for years it was actually painful to watch. Gorgeous, talented pop girls dating guys who look like they cut you off in traffic and have a podcast about crypto.

But Madison Beer and Zara Larsson said nope, we're not doing that anymore.

Madison went from that toxic loser era where she was literally not being treated right, to now being with a guy who is actually fine AND plays football. Like the ultimate glow up revenge arc, dating her ex's favorite player is insane work.

And Zara? Her man is FINE fine. Tall, suited up, handsome. They look like a couple that actually makes sense.

Finally some pretty privilege for the pretty girls too. We needed this win.

Copy this, it matches the meme's energy perfectly:

the internet really tried to run with this one huh

"zendaya played soccer, tom did ballet" - cute story, except it's literally backwards.

Tom Holland was the sports kid growing up, and Zendaya was the trained dancer since she was like 8. They've both said it in interviews.

i love how people will just invent a whole gender-role reversal narrative for likes without doing a 10 second google search. we are so cooked as a society.

can we at least lie accurately next time?

Here's a copy-paste ready one with that messy twitter voice:

okay can we actually talk about this for a sec??

everyone loves to throw Charli XCX into the "wasian" debate like it's a gotcha, but then gets real quiet when you point out the obvious.

she's literally half Indian. Gujarati from her mom's side. That's South Asian. The whole "wasian" conversation online is almost exclusively centered on East Asian mixes, so she never fits the aesthetic they built in their heads.

it's not that she's not Asian enough, it's that people's definition of Asian is embarrassingly narrow and they don't want to admit it.

but you didn't hear that from me.

Facts — Ariana Grande x Swarovski is honestly one of her best brand pairings.

This collage pulls from a few of her campaigns over the years, and every single look hits: the layered chokers, the colorful heart jewels, the classic diamond choker in black and white. They always style her so she still looks like herself — sleek pony, winged liner — but the jewelry does all the talking.

The comment underneath says it best, I hope she never stops working with them because they consistently give us some of her most iconic photos.

Which look is your favorite from this set? I’m torn between top-middle red and bottom-middle colorful

Yes, that photo is real — Cher, 28, with Janet Jackson, 8, on The Cher Show in 1975.

To answer the bottom caption:

Cher was born May 20, 1946. She was 28 turning 29 during that 1975 season. As of today, September 8, 2026, she is 80 years old.

Janet Jackson was born May 16, 1966 — so she was 8 turning 9 in 1975, which matches the caption. She's 60 now.

It's wild to see them together that early — Janet was still a year away from her acting debut on Good Times in 1976.

This is about Miley Cyrus talking about the inspiration behind one of her songs — the post says "BASS PERSUADES" but it's likely a typo / mislabeled title.

The quote attributed to her is pretty sweet: she saw a gay boy dancing and having the best time in a club, a group started making fun of his moves, she watched him get sad when he realized it, so she went over, cheered him up and asked him to dance with her.

Her point: "If you go to a club just to make fun of other people, then you're a bigger loser than all of my exes... Nobody should ever be made to feel ashamed of who they are or how they express themselves. I hope this song makes you dance, makes you feel free, and makes you feel unapologetic."

And yeah, the caption at the bottom sums it up — mocking people for dancing and enjoying themselves in a club is loser behavior.

That's the classic mid-2000s Megan Fox collage — top-left from Transformers as Mikaela, bottom-left from Jennifer's Body, and the other two from press / public appearances around that era.

The top caption is just thirst-post humor, the bottom reply "I read a new sentence everyday" is reacting to how over-the-top it is.

This photo gets shared a lot with that 1929 caption, but there's no verifiable information in the image itself to tell us the gender identity or history of the people pictured.

What is true historically is that trans and gender-nonconforming people aren't new. There are well-documented examples from long before 1929 across many cultures, and in the 1920s-30s Berlin, for example, there was early clinical work on gender affirmation at Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute for Sexual Science.

At the same time, you can't determine someone is trans from appearance alone in a black-and-white bar photo like this. The makeup, hairstyles, and dresses were typical women's fashion of the late 1920s, and image quality / retouching from that era can also be misleading.

So the broader point of the meme — that gender diversity predates modern terminology like HRT and blockers — has historical support, but this specific photo doesn't prove anything about these four individuals.

They really do have that same look here, it's kind of uncanny.

Left is Lili Reinhart (as Betty in Riverdale), and right is Brittany Murphy back in her Clueless era as Tai. Same blonde wavy hair, full lips, big doe eyes, even the same slightly pouty expression.

The comment underneath is spot on too, they could have 100% played sisters or mother/daughter if Brittany Murphy was still around. People have been pointing out this doppelgänger thing for years.

Do you see it as strongly as the meme does, or do you think it's just the similar 90s/Y2K styling?

Here's one you can copy-paste:

She didn't just wear the dress. She helped save the brand behind it.

Palestinian designer Yasmeen Mjalli just revealed that an Olivia Rodrigo commission kept Nöl Collective from shutting down after a fabric shipment was destroyed by Israeli customs.

Read that again. A whole shipment, gone. Months of work, gone. And one order helped keep the doors open.

This is why I get so tired when people say "keep politics out of fashion." Fashion is politics. Who gets to create, who gets materials, who gets seen, who gets erased, it's all decided long before the runway.

Nöl Collective isn't fast fashion. It's heritage, it's tatreez, it's Palestinian women stitching their history into every thread so it can't be wiped away.

So no, this wasn't just a cute dress moment. This was solidarity with a receipt.

Don't ever let anyone tell you fashion isn't political.
