David (Dave) Nichols will be at The Spot by Jacoby!
He will have a FREE public lesson session on Saturday, June 27th from 3-5 PM and will be running our Junior Pool League on Sunday, June 28th from 4:30-7:30 PM.

He will also be available for private lessons between June 27th and July 1st. Private lessons MUST be booked prior to Monday, June 22nd. Please reach out if you would like to book a private lesson.

David was born in Norwich, England, and grew up in the nearby village of Erpingham, just 15 miles away. He picked up cue sports early, starting on a 4‑foot table at only 8 years old and moving to a full 12‑foot snooker/billiards table by age 14.

At 18, he began receiving formal coaching in English billiards, which elevated both his billiards and snooker game. Over the years, he went on to win numerous county and national billiards titles across the UK, and at age 28 he achieved his first and only maximum 147 in snooker.

One of the biggest highlights of his career came in 2003 when he won the English Open Billiards Championship. Later, he spent nearly five years in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, helping coach Bai Yu Lu, who would go on to become a two‑time Women’s World Snooker Champion.

After leaving China in April 2025, David transitioned into the world of pool. Now based in California, he has quickly made his mark, earning a Fargo rating of 725 after just one year of playing.

Right before heading to the Super Billiard Expo, we got a fun message: someone wanted to swap their favorite local beer for some Spotted Cow! 🐄🧀

We couldn’t resist, so we traded our Wisconsin classic for some Heady Topper straight from Vermont. IPAs still aren’t our go-to, but trying something new made the trip even more memorable. 🍻
