Tech info from the recent EFRA European Championships at LMCC!
My Hobbywing Technology & Team EAM, Inc powered XRAY X4'26 was competitive the whole weekend!
In the end, I ended up using quite a similar set-up to my ETS Trencin set-up. With a few changes:
• Harder anti-roll bars in both front and rear - to keep the car flatter in the chicanes and fast direction changes. Corner speed and consistency improved.
• More laid down rear shock - for more mid corner rotation
• More camber gain in front and rear - for improved side bite on the lower grip conditions of this track, compared to the Hudy Arena track at which the ETS was held
• Slightly more front bump steer and less toe out - both which helped for more initial steering
Pro tip - small changes is the key to good performance, once you have a good base set-up. Sometimes as small as 0.25mm change of roll center, bump steer, or toe-gain is what brings the car into the window. Today's car's are so sensitive as a result of high downforce bodies, high grip tires, and high power. Don't make too big or too many changes at a time. Take a more methodical approach.
