Capture the Experience of Mount Vernon Country Club! Enjoy a remarkable private club experience where members young and old enjoy good times with family and friends in a warm, casual atmosphere. The club’s amenities offer our members and their guests a variety of options to spend their free time, away from the stresses of day-to-day life. The club opened in 1915 and boasts a wonderful golf course designed by Thomas Bendelow and Barry Serafin. The club hosts less than 4000 rounds per year and often rounds can be played with only the accompaniment of the natural wildlife that resides on the grounds. The club is considered one of the premier private clubs in Central Ohio and has become known for their world class member service. All who visit the club can’t help but notice the gorgeous natural setting amongst the trees and foothills, but the club has much more to offer. The dining experience is also considered the finest in the area. Fresh foods from local sources and around the world are prepared by an elite chef and his culinary team, and then served in the magnificent setting that is the Clubhouse. Working Below the Surface for a Better Course!

A tree's roots spread roughly 3 times as far out as the tree is tall. Obviously, trees and turf are using the same resources from the soil. Occasionally a root pruning is necessary in order to improve the health of the playing surfaces.

We were able to complete the majority of this job with a unique piece of equipment that slices 6-8 inch deep grooves in the ground effectively cutting off a portion of the root system in the direction of high-play turf.

Our Greens Department has been hard at work today leveling the drainage lines, and what a difference it makes! Their dedication and attention to detail play a huge role in maintaining the beauty, playability, and overall condition of our golf course.
