Angie absolutely shows up big on competition day and I love it! She went down a weight class, so all lifts were competition PRs in her new 86 kg weight class! But regardless, she took lifetime PR attempts on both sn**ch and clean and jerk 😎

Sn**ch 35/38/40x ... First time she even had 40 on the bar for sn**ch and I think that was a little intimidating. But she'll get it next time 💜🏋️‍♀️

Clean and jerk... 42/45/48x ... Also the first time she had 48 on the bar for clean and jerk and she managed a slight press out training make! She'll get it next time absolutely for sure 💜😎

Total: 83 kg, and qualified for The Arnold / Virus series!! Let's go!!

TLDR: The Music City Fit Expo weightlifting meet went awesome, everybody had a great time and did some really big lifting!

Our next competition will be the Tennessee Kentucky WSO championships at Trevecca Community Church on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University on October 17th,

Last but not least I need a nap 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm so proud of Caroline, our 6 feet tall Doctor of Neurology who has to train after work and after her toddler goes to bed!

After losing some pregnancy weight, she went down a weight class. So her lifts at the expo meet were competition PR's in her new 77 kg weight class that we can definitely build on! Sn**ch 31/33/35x CJ 40/42x/42 kg for a 75 kg total.

I'm excited to see how confident she looks in this last clean and jerk. She really put it together and came back from missing her second lift with a decisive lockout that looked amazing 🤩

Amy Expo meet recap:
50/53/56 kg sn**ch
70/73/x76 kg clean and jerk
129 kg total - qualified (again) for The Arnold/Virus series meets!

Amy had a fantastic meet despite waking up at 3 am with some digestive something or other 😖 She texted me about not feeling well and said she wasn't sure how it was going to go. I said we'll roll with whatever awesome her day would bring 💜

Fortunately she was feeling better during warm ups. All of the hard work she did holding the bottom position on sn**ches in training fully paid off!

Her clean and jerks looked great as well and she'll make that 76 kg or more next time 🏋️‍♀️💪

So proud of Amy!

You guys have no idea... During the 4 days leading up to the meet, volunteers who had confirmed with me multiple times suddenly had unforeseen situations come up where they could not help with the meet anymore. Like something on the order of seven or eight people, a couple of whom I was counting on to work all day long Saturday and some on Friday. I thought, well I guess I'm going to run the meet, referee, and be a loader all at the same time unless something changes.

Even Coach Wade was running into situations. We felt like the universe was testing us!!

I cried for about 30 seconds, said a very expressive and colorful prayer to the good Lord, then kept telling myself what I have started telling myself before meets that I'm running whenever I get anxious: Shiny Happy people lifting weights! Shiny Happy people lifting weights!

Sure enough, as soon as I started asking people for extra help, they said sure I can take on an extra session! Or people like Leslee asking, what do you need me to do right now no matter what it is? Everyone stepped up and I feel like we put on a great event!

Much love to all our volunteers pictured here and all the ones that I don't have photos of, because there are many, especially Valerie who ran the merch table (and did 40 other things including towing one of the equipment trailers), Angie and Rusty who helped set up and tear down, and all the Ogre Compound teammates who jumped in to help 💜💜💜

🏋️‍♀️💪💜

We will see you again next year!

We are still so thrilled at the turnout, the quality of the lifting, and just the amazing vibe at this meet!

As soon as we can we will announce the 2027 Fit Expo meet date.

But meanwhile you can register for the TN-KY WSO Championships! It's an open meet on October 17, meaning anyone from any state can compete, but since it is a WSO championships, only those from Tennessee and Kentucky can win medals.
