Kennel Lake has a rodent problem. There are muskrats, groundhogs and beavers on the property.

Muskrats and groundhogs burrow in the ground causing damage. Muskrats will undermine banks causing them to fall into the lake. Not to mention the possibility of someone stepping into a hole and getting hurt.

Beavers will dam up waters diverting flow. They will do massive damage to trees.

We have hired a licensed trapper to mitigate the issue. Someone pulled his traps out of the water.

Hunter and Trapper Interference: Under Illinois law (720 ILCS 5/48-3), it is a Class B misdemeanor to intentionally interfere with, obstruct, or disturb a person lawfully engaged in trapping.

We are paying for a service so please leave the traps alone.

It is open to the public.

No entry fee.

Just check in at the table set up by the clubhouse. No fishing before 8:00am.

Friendly reminder dogs aren’t allowed on the grounds.

We are assuming this fellow got loose and was running the neighborhood.

We were able to catch him. He isn’t very friendly. He is currently being kept in the clubhouse. His collar says “Wiley”

Please help us return him to his owners.
