The Canes showed up big last night at the Peake Invitational hosted by First Presbyterian Day School. Georgia Xan Bolen placed 4th overall, Logan Watson 7th overall, and Jacob Smallwood and Leila Sullivan 15th overall. The girls team took home second place out of 10, while the boys team came in third out of 13. All runners raced a wonderful race, especially given the hot temperatures, and extreme hills the course provided.

Our teams shaved off 93 total minutes in one week from our first meet at Locust Grove last weekend, to yesterday’s meet hosted by Mary Persons. Our girls team took home 2nd out of 9 teams and our boys team took home 3rd out of 13 total teams. Georgia Xan Bolen placed 2nd out of 65 runners in the Varsity race with her time of 22:05, while Logan Watson took home 8th out of 95 runners with a time of 18:35! My favorite picture of the day was Wesley Garvin leading our middle school team in prayer before their race. It’s a culture thing! Go Canes!

10 of the FCA student leaders are apart of the Cross Country team. Today they were given the opportunity to have a huddle. Ty Garvin delivered an amazing message from Micah 6:1-8. The team then split into small groups with a student leader in each group LEADING! Great job team!

This is what five years of hard work, with the best and hardest-working group of coaches, along with the dedication of our athletes, looks like. We are 52 strong this season, and all 52 play a beautiful role in making our program one of the best and biggest programs around. I am so proud to stand alongside all of these coaches and athletes and represent our little community of Jasper. We are excited for this upcoming season and can’t wait to see what’s in store for these amazing athletes!

And so it begins…52 runners this season for the high school program. 52 wonderful, intelligent, kind, athletic, and amazing runners, and we get to coach them! We are so blessed to lead this program of amazing young people. Here’s to another great year for Jasper XC!

Good afternoon.

There is a mandatory parent/athlete meeting for anyone running cross-country for the HIGH SCHOOL teams for the 2026-2027 school year on May 7th from 6-6:30 pm in the JCHS library. We will be giving out information about the upcoming season, summer practice dates, and the process for how parents must order uniforms this year. We will NOT see anyone again until AFTER the windows for ordering uniforms close, so it is IMPERATIVE that all athletes and parents attend. We look forward to seeing all of our current 8th graders (and upperclassman) and their parents attend. If you have questions - email me at [email protected]
