🏃♂️💙 The Final Practice – A Season (and Four Years) to Remember 💙🏃♀️
Today marked our last practice of the season — and for me, the close of four incredible years coaching cross country. Two of those years were spent helping build young runners at the middle school level, and the last two have been an unforgettable journey with our high school team.
In just these past two high school seasons, this group has brought home four Region Championship titles — an incredible achievement that speaks volumes about their heart, determination, and unity. But as every coach knows, success doesn’t happen alone.
I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the amazing coaches who have stood beside me every step of the way: Coach Tennyson, Coach Sullivan, Coach Warnock, and my right-hand girl, Coach Karen Hays. Each of you has played a vital role in shaping this program into what it is today. Your passion, commitment, and belief in our athletes have set a standard of excellence that will carry on for years to come.
To our runners — thank you for your dedication, your early mornings, your sweat, and your heart. You’ve made this season one to remember, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far you’ve come.
Now, as we head into State on Saturday, all that’s left to do is trust our training, run with heart, and leave it all out there. No matter what happens, this season has been a victory in every sense of the word.
Let’s finish strong. 💪💙
