Wild Meadows Equestrian Center Creating a more natural horse boarding experience using lessons from wild horses.

By creating a track system for the horses instead of traditional pastures and paddocks, horses instinctually travel the track, adding miles of exercise each day.

Adding a horse oasis to our paddock paradise horse track. A little wading pool where they can cool off on hot days.

This video was from about a month ago. He was 11 months old. It’s crazy. We brought him home as a baby and every week his personality just gets bigger and bigger! This day he decided helping to spread the lime by racing the mule around the pasture!

It’s not uncommon that a senior horse can still grow a really thick winter coat. However, when spring rolls around, they may not be able to shed it off as well as they used to.

It’s important that you help get all of that hair off so they don’t get overly hot in the summer months. I wouldn’t want to shave Bobby because, as with most senior horses, skin can be more sensitive and attract more flies because of potential sores and such. Also, he has fair skin and he would be prone to burning. So just giving him good brushing and using the shedding blade is our best bet to help him get all this extra hair off.
