🏆🎣 WHAT AN UNFORGETTABLE SEASON, MAROONS! 🎣🏆
As we close the books on this history-making year for Moline Bass Fishing—the very first time since the IHSA started in 2009 that we have won both Regionals and Sectionals in the same year—we want to give a massive shoutout to our State competitors!
A huge congratulations to Junior Henry Hazen and Freshman Wyatt Henry on a phenomenal performance at the IHSA State Finals! 👏
These two absolutely ground it out on the big stage. Facing tough competition and changing conditions, they showed incredible grit and skill, bringing in a full 5-fish limit BOTH days of the tournament! 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 🔄
Henry and Wyatt, you represented Moline High School with pride and determination. We are so proud of the work you put in to achieve this consistent, limit-catching performance at State. The future of Maroon Bass Fishing is incredibly bright! 🕶️
Thank you to Coaches Tim Albrecht,Tim Himsl, and Steve Paytash, the parents, sponsors, and the entire Maroon community for backing this team throughout this legendary run.
👇 Join us in congratulating Henry and Wyatt on an awesome State performance and an incredible season in the comments below! Show them some Maroon Pride! 📣

🎣 REGIONAL CHAMPS. SECTIONAL CHAMPS. STATE BOUND! 🎣

Our winning ways are alive and well! The Moline Bass Fishing team took to the waters of Pool 13 for the Sectional tournament and secured the ultimate victory.

🚨 HISTORY MADE ON THE WATER! 🚨
This marks a massive milestone for our program: 2009 was the very first year of IHSA state bass fishing, and this is the FIRST time since then that Moline has swept both the Regional and Sectional championships in a single season! 🥇🥇

Our winning boat got the job done, bringing in 5 fish for an impressive total weight of 14.60 lbs! ⚖️

A huge congratulations to angler Henry Hazen, and Coaches Tim Albrecht and Tim Himsl, for the incredible focus and ex*****on shown this season.

Good luck at State June 5-6! Let's go, Maroons!

We’re proud to share a big win for one of our own—Coach Tim Himsl! 🎣

Tim was part of Moline High School’s very first bass fishing team back in 2009. After a successful college fishing career, he returned to Moline, and now serves as one of the head coaches of our high school bass fishing team.

His passion for the sport and dedication to our student anglers continues to inspire, and his latest accomplishment is no surprise. Check out the post below to see what Coach Himsl just reeled in! 🏆

We’re proud to share today’s feature in the Quad City Times highlighting Moline’s 10th trip to the IHSA Bass Fishing State Final Tournament at Lake Shelbyville this Friday!

Two boats qualified this year, continuing an incredible legacy since IHSA first sanctioned bass fishing in 2009. Even cooler? Former Moline angler Tim Himsl — who was on Moline’s very first team back in 2009 as a senior — is now back as a coach, helping guide the next generation of anglers!

Fun fact: In 2009, Tim’s boat, Coached by Brian Prybil, finished 4th at sectionals — just missing state qualification, as only the top three teams advanced. In the final two minutes, Tim hooked a fish that would have actually won the sectional, but it fell off right at the boat. Now, years later, Tim’s paying it forward by coaching today’s anglers on their own journey to state!

Head Coach Tim Albrecht and the coaching team have built a powerhouse program, turning practice, patience, and passion into a lifelong love of fishing for these students. Seniors like Justin Mendoza are closing out their Moline careers with a state appearance, while younger anglers like sophomore Henry Hazen are stepping up in a big way.

Wishing the team the best as they cast for a state title this weekend! Let’s go, Maroons! 🏆🐟💪

Moline High School Bass Fishing Team out practicing one last time before heading to Shelbyville Lake later this week to compete in the Illinois Highschool Association State Championship!
The guys got out tonight along Ben Butterworth Parkway in Moline and reeled in several nice fish! Check out these two beauties. 💪 These guys can catch them anywhere — proving once again that you don’t have to go far. We’ve got great fishing right in our own backyard along River Drive.
