Welcome to the Modesto Girls Softball League

We have five age divisions for girls of all skill levels ages 5 to 15 years old.

6U – T-Ball with an 11” Soft Incrediball; teams formed by school area.

8U – Coach Pitch with an 11” Softball; teams formed by school area.

10U – Fast Pitch with an 11” Softball; teams formed through player draft.

12U – Fast Pitch with a 12” Softball; teams formed

through player draft.

15U – Fast Pitch with a 12” Softball; teams formed through player draft. Division placement based upon age on or after January 1st; if approved by the board a girl can move up to the next division, but not back. Our league is recreational in nature and provides skill based league play for girls of all ability levels. Our season runs 10 – 14 games long depending on field availability, weather, enrollment numbers, etc; we typically schedule two games for each team weekly during the regular season, for all divisions except 6U. 6U will have one game each week on Saturday mornings. Games and practices are held on the Modesto City and Sylvan School District fields. We hold two Evaluation Days prior to the player draft. We also kick the season off with an event filled Opening Ceremonies for players and their families, and we close the season with a tournament for the 10U, 12U and 15U before we officially finish with Closing Ceremonies. We are always looking for volunteers to help us on the board; if interested please send an email to [email protected], and you too can help us shape the league not only for this season, but for many seasons to come. We do not have a direct phone line to call, but we will answer any and all email inquiries promptly, as this is the most convenient way for us to communicate with you. In addition to [email protected], you can email any board member directly if your question is specific to their function on the board. MGSL has been invited to take the field with the Central Catholic softball team for the National anthem before their first playoff game next Wednesday, 5/13 at 4:00. All players are welcome to come on the field with them, and our board president will be throwing out the first pitch. 🥎
More details to come but I think this is a great idea and the girls can all see what working hard leads to. If your daughter is interested, please reply here or send me a message with their age group so they can get a head count.
