Two years with our Geotrek Vans campervan and we still say it’s the best purchase we’ve ever made. A little home that lets us wake up where we want to play! We’re so stoked to have GeoTrek supporting the Gold Rush Adventure Challenge and hosting a checkpoint on the course. Keep an eye out for them out there!

I’ve been adventuring my whole life, but never felt more prepared to help my buddies than after my Ready SF Wilderness First Responder course. Knowledge can save lives. Practice gives us confidence to act when it counts. ReadySF teaches first aid, CPR, and wilderness medicine, and we’re stoked to have them supporting the Gold Rush Adventure Challenge!

Located on the Sausalito waterfront, they have the best spot in the bay to explore the local waterways, marine life, birds, houseboats, angel island and the Golden Gate Bridge. We’re stoked to have High Camp as a sponsor partner for our race! We got some goodies to give away as awards and they are LEGIT barware for the outdoors. You can fit a full bottle in the insulated flask and it comes with two magnetic tumblers to cheers a buddy. I wish we didn’t have to give these away to some lucky racers!!

We love KETL Mtn. apparel because you can literally spend days bushwhacking through the woods then pop out into town, sit down at the bar, and still look good enough to get a hot date.

And they practice what they preach. Some of the KETL crew are hardcore adventure racers themselves, and they genuinely love supporting the sport here on the West Coast.

Really nice paddle on the Stanislaus River today. Lovely section of river, dense vegetation on the banks, tall trees, egrets and a few fish.

Team Fin Win's race recap. (Note for accuracy: in the 24-Hour race, 14 teams started and 12 finished the full course.)

Team Fin-Win with me, Druce Finlay, and Jonathan Winder. Gold Rush Adventure Racing, 24 Hour Challenge August 27/28, 2024.

The race for us looked like: about 60 or so miles; run, kayak, trek, kayak, mounting bike, kayak, trek, kayak, swim, trek. It was all navigation by map and compass.

22 or 23 teams started, 13 finished, we finished 8th. One of the top teams in the world, Team Vitaraid from Spain finished 5th. It was a fairly tough course.

Our strategy, based on the course and our abilities was probably sound. We performed to our expectations until the last leg where finally the fatigue showed and our ability to navigate suffered badly.

Next time we'll be stronger and smarter.
