⚾️ Last night was just the beginning.

The first GGWBL game is officially in the books, but there’s a lot more happening around Good Game Sports than what you see on social media.

The GG Sports App is where everything starts coming together. League updates, events, registrations, standings, stats, opportunities to compete, and more as we continue building.

And GGWBL is only one piece of it.

Baseball, golf, future events, and whatever comes next. The goal is to create one place where the Gulf Coast sports community can see what’s happening and find a way to be part of it.

JSG Hillbillies Edge Lower Alabama Braves 3-2 in Pitcher’s Duel

Game Recap

Both teams received strong performances on the mound Tuesday, but the JSG Hillbillies came away with a 3-2 victory over the Lower Alabama Braves. Blake McGinley got the start for JSG and recorded nine outs.

The Hillbillies got on the board in the first inning when Joshua Wild drew a walk that brought home one run.

The Lower Alabama Braves battled back, and #16 homered to left field on an 0-2 count, helping the Braves tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

Blake McGinley started on the mound for JSG. The left-hander allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. #24 got the start for Lower Alabama and allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out eight while walking six. Jordan Taylor came on in relief for the Hillbillies.

At the plate, Ben Titus, Weston Brock, Raul Tejada, and Brendon each recorded one hit for JSG. Joshua Wild led the Hillbillies with one RBI. JSG also showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks. McGinley and Chase Jaramillo led the team with two walks apiece.

The Hillbillies played clean defense and did not commit an error. Weston Brock led the team defensively with nine chances in the field.

For Lower Alabama, #16 led the middle of the lineup with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-2. #16, #14, #24, #6, and #21 each collected a hit for the Braves.

Lower Alabama was also error-free defensively, with #21 leading the team with five plays.

The first game of the GGWBL season lived up to the pitching matchup, with JSG Hillbillies holding on for the 3-2 Opening Day win.

A lifelong baseball player, Chad grew up playing year-round and was a consistent All-Star throughout his youth. He stepped away from the game in high school to pursue soccer before eventually finding his way back to the diamond.

From 2021–2025, Chad played in Louisiana's DSABL, where he was part of two championship teams and established himself as a versatile player, seeing time in the outfield, at second base, and behind the plate. He returned home to Daphne in 2026, played ball in Mobile, and now plays in the Good Game Sports Wood Bat League.

Chad is married to Megan and has four children. He works as a Senior Partner Manager for a banking software company, is a baseball instructor at Taylor'd Athletics, and serves as JV Baseball Coach at Bayshore Christian High School.

Today, Good Game Sports joins our country in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the victims, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who showed incredible courage in the face of tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only what was lost, but the unity, strength, and compassion Americans showed one another in the days that followed.

Today is bigger than sports. It’s a day to remember, honor, and never forget.

Now living in Gulf Shores, he works as a Realtor while continuing his baseball career on the Gulf Coast. His versatility as both a utility player and right-handed pitcher makes him a valuable addition as he begins his rookie season with the Blue Crabs.
