Learn from our guides in the most comprehensive and hands-on way with Red River Adventures’ Backcountry Mentorship Program.
Instead of taking everything one course at a time, our mentorship combines essential skills from Rescue, Rec Level 1, and Rec Level 2 into one comprehensive course.You’ll spend real time in the mountains, learning through a variety of conditions and terrain while building skills in avalanche awareness, rescue, terrain selection, tour planning, decision-making, and leadership.
This is about more than learning the information. It’s about putting it into practice, asking questions, making decisions, and gaining the experience to become a more confident and capable backcountry skier or rider.
With small groups and guidance from experienced RRA instructors, you’ll have the time and space to actually learn, practice, and progress.

Ice climbing season is coming, and whether you’re picking up tools for the first time or looking to take your climbing to the next level, Red River has a course for you.
Start with Intro to Ice 101 and learn the fundamentals; movement, tools, crampons, safety, and setting up top ropes. Ready for steeper terrain? Ice 201 takes you into protection, mock leading, and more advanced techniques. And for climbers ready to push further, Advanced Ice focuses on leading, route finding, anchors, transitions, and multi-pitch terrain.
Climb in the Wasatch, Provo Canyon, or Maple Canyon with experienced professional guides who tailor the day to where you’re coming from to where you want to go.

Every skier and rider should experience Chamonix at least once. 🇫🇷🏔️
Chamonix is about as good as it gets, with incredible terrain, massive alpine views, and the Mont Blanc massif the backdrop to it all. From the moment you step onto the Aiguille du Midi cable car, rising from Chamonix to 12,605 feet in just 30 minutes, you’re looking at a completely different kind of ski experience.
Home to “the most beautiful ski descent in the world,” the Vallée Blanche is the kind of descent you don’t forget. Nearly 10,000 feet of skiing through the high alpine, surrounded by glaciers and some of the most iconic peaks in the Alps.
And skiing is only part of it. Spend the week with IFMGA mountain guides, stay overnight in a mountain hut, experience Chamonix’s legendary après-ski, and come back to the Héliopic Hôtel & Spa after big days in the mountains.

The summer season is winding down and fall is right around the corner. Probably our favorite time to get on the rock, and right now both Moab and Salt Lake City are looking great.
From Moab's desert sandstone crags and towers to the the canyons and mountain views around SLC, there's no shortage of rock to explore. Cooler temps, better conditions, and plenty of routes to keep you busy.
