One of our favorite competitions is the Mentone Eggfest—and this year definitely didn’t disappoint. We had a solid day, landing 2nd place ribs and 6th place chicken. Dont sleep on the new Competition Pork seasoning from only from TheBBQSuperstore.com

Michael from Sweet Cleaver Barbecue pulled up and spent the entire cook with us, basically turning our trailer into a live masterclass. After a few comps of hanging out in the “character-building section” (a.k.a. the back half of the standings), having one of the top rib cooks in the area right there with us was huge. He helped get me back on track with the rib program—and probably saved me from overthinking it into oblivion (again).

Big shoutout to everyone behind the scenes of the Michiana Barbecue Series, from organizing the raffles, to lining up three full tables of judges (which is no small task), to expanding payouts to five places—you all crushed it. The whole event ran great, and we had an awesome time.

Congrats to our friend who heard their names called and it was nice seeing everyone. Hope to see all of you next year in Mentone.

We had an up and down weekend at the Rockin BBQ event in Warsaw. We did the Friday night Rib and Chicken burn and the judges clearly were not fans of us that night. Table 404 murdered some good teams, but that's the way it goes.

Saturday, we competed in the backyard portion and managed to get a 1st place chicken call. Always nice to win a category, but the payout of $100 makes you wonder why it was so low with 11 teams at $200 entry fee each. We got 9th in ribs and last in sausage. We had fun though.

Congrats to Sweet Cleaver Barbecue on his RGC. Mike is always someone you know is going to turn in high quality BBQ.
