🎉🎉🎉THE 2026 PLAY COMP CHEER MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEER SQUAD*🎉🎉🎉

🍨What better way to get to know each other than with ice cream (or just bowls full of toppings)?

🌤️The skies parted and things cleared up JUST in time for our gathering - the girls chattered and played some fun ice breaker games, while the parents stood to the side and successfully avoided the super soaker water canons 🤷‍♀️

🫶🫶A huge thank you to our Team Parents who pulled this event together and manifested beautiful weather, and our coaches who spent 1:1 time with the girls getting to know them.

Mark your calendars! PLAY Comp Cheer is embarking on some big fundraising goals and we need your help! Our mats are going to need replacing in the next year, and those suckers are EXPENSIVE (like seriously, you have no idea -- $10K each? And we need at least 2!). Please join us for our first ever RESTAURANT night at everybody's favorite - CULVERS!

The PRIOR LAKE* Culvers on Credit River Road will be gifting us with 10% of their sales from 4-8 PM from ANYBODY who dines with them! You don't even have to say you're with PLAY, though everybody would certainly welcome a CHEER!

This is a huge opportunity to help our program - so tell your friends and neighbors, and have an extra order of fries!

The Middle School squad kicks off practice this day, and will be there right as their practice ends, so come join us, celebrate the start of summer and of what will surely be a successful season. We have a lot to CHEER for!

*note, this is the PL culvers, not Savage, although they are really delicious too!

BSN apparel has opened a FUNDRAISING shop for us -- if you are in the market for some new threads for you, your athlete, or other friends and family members, consider shopping through this link. BSN will give 10% of all proceeds back to PLAY CHEER to go towards our costs. Shop will be open through the end of May and at other times throughout the year.

You will need to join the page and be approved, but sometimes members will post old uniforms here for purchase.

LAKER PREP! If you are interested in signing up for Laker Prep, registration will close soon -- make sure you get signed up and mark your calendars for our UNIFORM NIGHT on 5/28 where you will get to check out our brand new uniforms, and get fitted, ensuring a proper size on the mat in August!

*uniform night is 5/28 not 5/18!! Sorry!!

Annnnnnnnnd that's a wrap on PLAY comp cheer tryouts for the 2026-27 season!

We're all in this together -- It takes a village, and this season the board, coaches, gophers, laker varsity cheerleaders, PLAY exec board and administrators, schedulers, custodians, middle school and elementary school admins, local online newspapers and community ed all came together to support our athletes and grow the cheer program into all we know it can be.

I can't tell you how many people have said to me before, "I didn't even know prior lake had a youth competition cheer program."

Growth is possible. Change is possible.

Bloom where you're planted.

Water your dreams.

We walked in as a brand new board, relatively clueless - but we answered the call, and we said yes - and signed on for year two. We've made some changes and things just keep on getting better!
