Revelin Heitkamp made the most of his efforts in Bandolero Feature 1 on Saturday, the Shakopee native dodged the carnage like a seasoned veteran on his way to claim the checkered flag in his bright blue and yellow No. 57 machine. Roman Crow (27) and Caleb Hawes (59) rounded out the podium.

Thanks to everybody who was kind enough to congratulate Rev on last night’s performance! Not just his victory, but his ability to gut it out through adversity and make the best of a tough situation.

We’ll be back in action in two weeks!

Well..

The good Lord giveth, and you know the rest.

Another really strong start moving from 6th at the green flag to the lead about halfway in. Rev was coasting to another win when he caught a caution. Chris Flynn caught him a couple laps later and Rev was starting to lose ground. Turns out he hit a bump and tweaked a spindle. He was still hanging on to 3rd on the last lap and he was rear ended, which spun him out and the spindle broke the rest of the way.

He brought it in on three wheels in a shower of sparks and still finished the race. Not how we would have drawn it up, but it doesn’t take away from win number 1!

HE DID IT!!!!

Rev’s first win at Elko Speedway!

Even though he was fast qualifier, he started fifth, but moved up quickly, taking the lead with about 7 laps left and he never looked back. He also recorded a blistering 15.694 lap time!

We still have one more feature to run tonight so we will celebrate the win for now, and see what the next race has in store for us.

Up and down practice so far. Only made it through 1 lap in the first practice session when the positive battery cable decided it wanted nothing to do with the battery any longer. Our hearts were sinking as we watched Rev’s car get towed off the track but we had to laugh when we found the the problem. A couple pieces of hardware later and she fired right up.

The second practice session was a different story. Rev now has the 2nd fastest practice lap with one more session to go!
