Thank you thank you thank you to everyone that came out to ride with us in the Northeast Parade last night. What an honor to share that space with you. We are so grateful for all of the love and support that came our way during the parade (and always). I love this town with all my heart. ♥️

See you at the Wednesday ride at Sociable Cider at 6:00 for a MUCH faster group ride.

Recovery Bike Shop is being honored as a business ambassador in the parade this year and we want you to ride with us! Meet at the bike shop. At 5:30pm we’ll roll out to the parade starting line on 27th Ave NE. Actual parade begins at 6:30.

We’re hoping for just an epically large group. Be a part of it with us!

Coffee (Outside) 10am Sunday June 14 at the Bell of Two Friends on Nicollet Island. Cross onto the island at the Merriam St Bridge and keep going straight. The bell is on the left just before the road curves to the right and goes under the Hennepin Bridge. I’d never seen it before either.

And come on our Community Safety ride right after Coffee (Outside) at about 11:00. And of course join us for yoga at Recovery Bike Shop at 9am. It’s free!

🎥 Astrid is our newest mechanic and comes to us from the bike shops of Denver. She is a skilled mechanic, but she’s also an organizer who is doing the hard work of combing through our old systems and processes to help this place work even better. If there are still bikes on the sales floor in September, it will be in no small part because of Astrid’s work to keep us efficient.

Astrid built her Giant Speeder Lite from parts around the shop. It’s probably the second prettiest bike in our collective fleet.

Last but not least, Astrid will be riding with us in the NE Parade on Tuesday June 16 and you should too! Bring your bike to Recovery Bike Shop. At 5:30pm we’ll roll over to the staging line on 27th Ave for the 6:30 start of the parade. Join us! It’s the best small town parade in Minneapolis!

If you haven’t been to Boom Island yet to see Saype’s Beyond Walls, we did the hard work for you last Sunday at Coffee (Outside). You can already see how much it has faded. There’s still something to see (even after the rain yesterday). If it’s on your list, make it happen. It won’t last much longer.

Thanks for the drone shots, Brad!

Have you ever been in a parade? This is your chance!

Have you ever been to the NE Parade? This is YOUR CHANCE!!

The more the merrier! Recruit your friends!

Meet us at Recovery Bike Shop Tuesday June 16 at 5:30pm. Bring you bike. We’ll roll out together to the staging line of the parade on 27th Ave. (If you’re running late, just find us on 27th west of Central Ave. We’ll be easy to find. Parade starts at 6:30pm.)

This will be our shortest group ride of the year (and our slowest). It will also be our most exciting!

Route basically ends at the . Join us there for a quick gathering (don’t go onto the property) and then we’ll head over to Sociable Cider for the parade after-party!

Oh my god, I’m so excited!

Thank you to the .LionsClub for keeping the Northeast Parade going for its 97th year!

Coffee (Outside) this week is going back to Boom Island. I didn’t plan this well (or at all), but this is an opportunity we can’t miss. So…

Boom Island is hosting Beyond Walls (until it fades away), an absolutely ginormous land-mural/fresco from and a small team of globe travelers.

Join us for Coffee (Outside) Sunday at 10am to see what we can see (honestly, it’s not much). But it is a happening. And it is an important project that we are more than happy to promote. With the planet as a canvas, Saype is creating a metaphorical chain of clasped hands across the entire world. Minneapolis is only the 21st destination for one of these ephemeral frescoes (created with eco-friendly materials) and the first North American site.

PHOTO 1: Saype’s piece stretches across the grass behind Patrick and his Nishiki Modulus. But what you’re really looking at is a Dura-Ace track hub, a component Patrick has been riding for 3 decades. This bike, and several others over the years, has been built around the hub. All of Patrick’s bikes are quirky (to match their rider), and this is no exception.

Patrick has the longest commute of anyone at the shop and today he chose to ride in on a two-speed, one of the more rare builds in the world because a two-speed tends to have all of the derailleurs but very little of the functionality. But the Dura-Ace hub makes it worth it.

Patrick has more mechanic experience than most bike shops and has been in shops all over town. He’s built more of this year’s bike fleet than anyone else. We’re lucky to have him and grateful that he has chosen to settle at Recovery Bike Shop.

As always, everyone is welcome at Coffee (Outside).

Free community yoga at the bike shop at 9am with .

And our weekly ride to put a presence out on the streets of Northeast starts after Coffee (Outside) around 11am.

“This is what community looks like!”

Group ride leaves Sociable Cider, explores the city for about an hour, and returns for free cider. It’s lovely. 😁

Probably you’ve already enjoyed the new Plymouth Bridge bike/ped tunnel. We’ve been using it since last fall. But now it’s officially open!

The new tunnel helps keep riders and runners from crossing paths with cars coming off of the Plymouth bridge, which can really be moving. The tunnel also provides a more direct route through Boom Island for commuters along the river. This will make an even bigger difference after the Marshall St reconstruction in a few years.

Join us for Coffee (Outside) on Sunday at 10:00am. We’ve had so many new people lately that I’m starting to feel obligated to mention that we don’t have coffee. We do bring treats to share, but I personally have never been a coffee drinker, so…yeah. But do feel free to bring your own. Lots of people do.

Everyone is welcome at 9am yoga at the bike shop. It’s free. And we’ll go for a community ride after Coffee (Outside) at 11ish. See you tomorrow!
