From showing my binding on stage to doing trans law full time this winter, I have never been this visibly trans. This trans day of visibility, I am visibly trans for all those who cannot be.
I have spent the last year and a half on a steadfast march toward authenticity. Away from transactional connections, from masking, and from following social scripts that I don’t believe in. It’s ok if it makes you uncomfortable. In fact, that’s part of the point. Discomfort is not a problem. Hurting also isn’t a problem. We all hurt. My hurt was information to bring me closer to who I really am. Who I needed to be. It’s here to bring me to my highest potential. If you are uncomfortable, or hurting, I invite you to befriend it with me.
I don’t yet know where it will take me next, but that is also kind of the point.
📸 by from the instructor showcase earlier this month. Thanks to all who have touched this piece over the years and helped it grow into itself, too. (This piece percolated in act creation series’ with and .mckenna.aerial! It was massaged in private lessons with .kid.in.town, training with / , and .traumatic.circus, and others who I cannot tag!
