Happy Pride Month from The Plaid Horse 🌈

Horses have always brought together people from different backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Our sport is stronger when everyone feels welcome in it.

Spotlight moment on one of our community!

Kaci just graduated high school and won The Outstanding Senior award given by the Dinwidie FFA!

She was awarded 2nd place high individual in Hippology (Horse Knowledge) and had to give several speeches on various horse health topics. Congratulations Kaci!

If you don’t know Kaci, she mucks stalls on weekdays and also helps work barn chores shifts, she is such a hardworking young woman; reliable and always does a great job we are so thankful this smarty pants is part of our team!

A quick Barn PSA reminder for proper dress/attire for riding:

The sun is out, school is almost over and everyone is feeling the summer vibes; I love it! But let’s remember to dress safely for the barn and riding!

Unfortunately the barn is not the place for your cute flowy, over the shoulder shirts, or crop tops.

Please no large dangling earrings, chunky fun necklaces and bracelets.

Overly loose/baggy pants and shorts are also a no go.

No back packs of any kind while riding.

No flip flops, sandals or high heels. Crocs ok for swimming horsies and barn chores (but they are not the safest foot attire!) They should also never be in a stirrup.

Also, let’s please wear socks this year and KEEP them on our feet..everyone has been doing great so far! Let’s keep up the good work! we don’t need the socks to make a comeback 😂

I would like to start a little ‘Redbird Tack Shop’ at the barn.

We would just carry little everyday things people need..

I was gonna start with:

bell boots
halters & leadropes
fly spray
Grooming supplies
Saddle soap

But thats all I could think of..do you all think you would need anything else?

Comment below with anything else you think we should have on hand that would be convenient to purchase at the barn!
