Some stories from the Rockin' DK Ranch are simply too incredible to be forgotten.
We are a family-owned and operated ranch, and we take tremendous pride in the whitetail herd we’ve built over the years. From introducing quality genetics to closely managing and monitoring our deer, there is a lot of time, work and stewardship behind the wildlife you see here today.
But no matter how carefully we manage our herd, nature is still nature.
This was one of our most infamous bucks, a magnificent whitetail we knew well. During the rut, he locked horns with another buck while battling for dominance and breeding rights. Neither buck was able to break free, and they were eventually found locked together just as you see them here.
We chose to preserve them this way because their story is part of the story of the ranch.
Those big, beautiful racks we admire aren't just for show. Each fall, mature bucks put them to the test. They fight, sometimes brutally, for dominance and the opportunity to breed. It's one of the raw realities of the whitetail world that most people never get the opportunity to witness.
Today, these two remain together, a permanent reminder of the strength, competition and sometimes harsh reality of nature.
For us, managing wildlife also means respecting its story. And this is one Rockin’ DK Ranch story we will never forget.
For us, it's more than genetics. It's generations building a legacy. 🤎
