As a young boy going to local dirt tracks 311 Speedway, Log Cabin Raceway, and Ace with my dad I dreamed of racing but never had that chance as a boy. Although I did not have the chance as a boy I still dreamed of racing someday on some level. My chance to get involved in racing came in 2002 when I started Hurd Racing with David Purgason Jr. as my first primary driver and with my dad helping on the crew. Over the next few years I drove select races and David drove a total of five seasons with Hurd Racing through the 2006 season winning over 50 races and two track championships. In 2007 Josh Barczy started driving full time for Hurd Racing and completed three full seasons. During those three seasons Josh won over 45 races including two WKA Asphalt state series races and one King of the Clay race. He also won three track championships while driving for Hurd Racing. After the 2008 season Josh Barczy aged out of the Junior Sportsman Champ and Steven Barker moved into that kart winning the points in that class for 2009 and 2011. In 2011 Noah Doss joined the team as Steven's teammate and won his first championship at Providence Raceway. In 2012 Noah was the primary driver winning 45 races and 4 championships. 2013 was another great season for Hurd Racing with Noah Doss once again behind the wheel. 2013 was our first year with a factory supplied chassis from Predator Kart Chassis. Noah won a total of 29 races in the 2013 season and won our first state championship in the North Carolina King of the Clay state series. Drivers, Wins, and Championships

When you don't have the right tools, you have to improvise! 😆 After 24 years of racing karts, this was my first time mounting 5-inch tires, and it was definitely a challenge. Our tire breaker is designed for 6-inch wheels, so the ring was way too large for this job. I had an idea, and low and behold, it actually worked: I used a 6-inch wheel to create the perfect ring to sit over the 5-inch wheel and break the old Maxxis tire off. The next hurdle was getting the tire off the rim, but once I got the J-hook in place, it came off perfectly. The MG tires are officially on the kart and ready to rip!

🏁💵Bentley’s Juicebox Racing Update💵🏁

On Saturday, September 26, at Stateline Speedway in Lawsonville, Bentley Doss earned his first-ever money in the Juicebox class!

The Juicebox class is typically a non-money kids' class for racers under 5. However, in honor of the Kenneth Steele Memorial, John Peche generously donated prize money for the young competitors.
Bentley had an incredible time, and his smile says it all!

🏷️2025 Phantom Tricon $3000🏷️

Phantom Tricon racing go-kart chassis with a fiberglass body. Wheels, tires, weight and engine are not included. For an extra $500 we will include mychron 5 and Ducar engine. Ceramic Bearings and carbon fiber gear guard. Kart has only about 8 weekends on it still in great shape with no accidents.

🏁Bentley Takes the Win at Coleridge!🏁

On Saturday, September 19, Bentley Doss earned his first win at Coleridge! While every driver in the Juicebox class is a winner, Bentley was the one who crossed the finish line first.

Bentley drove an exceptional race, running in second place until making an exciting pass right at the finish line. This victory was also his first win in his Michael Myers-themed wrap, designed by Signs and Trophies in Madison.

Last weekend, we traveled to Coleridge Speedway for round six of the Coleridge/Stateline Points Series.

Cameron started the points race off strong, earning the pole position. He also qualified third in the warm-up race, setting the stage for a great night of racing.

When the points feature race began, Cameron put together an impressive performance and brought home a second-place finish. It was a great points night for the team and helped extend his lead in the championship standings.

Next, we will be racing at Stateline Speedway for round seven. We're looking forward to another strong night at the track!

One of my former drivers Josh Barczy lost his Grandpa and his best friend this week. It has been hard for me to express my thought’s and feelings. I know how close they were. Jimmie was one of the best men I have ever met. A true drag racing legend that loved his family.
During our karting years, we were all so close-Josh, Tracey, Jody, Ashley, the rest of the family. Those were truly special times, and the memories we made together are ones I will always cherish.
Jimmie had a genuine love for Josh, his entire family, and drag racing. I will never forget him supporting Josh through all those years at the kart track and drag racing slot cars. In 2010, Josh stepped away from karting to pursue drag racing alongside his grandpa, beginning a new chapter that became something truly special for both Josh, Jimmie and the entire family. They all raced as a family and made some great memories.
The photos bring back so many memories-from Josh's early days in a junior dragster, to the famed Flintstone ‘66 Nova that he still races today. One photo also captures Josh and Jimmie together at a big slot car event in Tennessee.
Josh, I know carrying on your grandpa's tradition in his car means something incredibly special. Every time you race it, you carry a part of Jimmie with you. His love, guidance, and support will never be forgotten.
Prayers to Josh, Tracey, Jody, Ashley, and the entire family. I still love you all like a second family, and I'm grateful for the years, the friendship, and the memories we shared.
