As a young boy going to local dirt tracks 311 Speedway, Log Cabin Raceway, and Ace with my dad I dreamed of racing but never had that chance as a boy. Although I did not have the chance as a boy I still dreamed of racing someday on some level. My chance to get involved in racing came in 2002 when I started Hurd Racing with David Purgason Jr. as my first primary driver and with my dad helping on th

e crew. Over the next few years I drove select races and David drove a total of five seasons with Hurd Racing through the 2006 season winning over 50 races and two track championships. In 2007 Josh Barczy started driving full time for Hurd Racing and completed three full seasons. During those three seasons Josh won over 45 races including two WKA Asphalt state series races and one King of the Clay race. He also won three track championships while driving for Hurd Racing. After the 2008 season Josh Barczy aged out of the Junior Sportsman Champ and Steven Barker moved into that kart winning the points in that class for 2009 and 2011. In 2011 Noah Doss joined the team as Steven's teammate and won his first championship at Providence Raceway. In 2012 Noah was the primary driver winning 45 races and 4 championships. 2013 was another great season for Hurd Racing with Noah Doss once again behind the wheel. 2013 was our first year with a factory supplied chassis from Predator Kart Chassis. Noah won a total of 29 races in the 2013 season and won our first state championship in the North Carolina King of the Clay state series. Drivers, Wins, and Championships

We were at Coleridge Speedway this past Saturday and it was an incredible night! Both drivers were fast, Noah qualifying third, with teammate Cameron Moore right behind in fourth during the warmup qualifying. In the points/pro class, Noah secured the pole position while Cameron grabbed second. During the races, both drivers made impressive moves: Noah finished second in the warmup with a real shot at the win, and Cameron moved up to and impressive fourth. The pro/points race was thrilling, with Noah leading flag to flag to take the victory, and Cameron holding strong in second place. We're pumped for our next race this Saturday, June 6th, at Stateline Speedway!

Our success on the track wouldn't be possible without the support and expertise of numerous individuals contributing to our success. First and foremost, we thank God for giving us the ability to do what we love and keeping us safe. Noah Doss works tirelessly to consistently provide exceptional tires to both karts, which is the most important piece of the puzzle to win races. His expertise enables him and Cameron to maintain a competitive edge. Henry Murray and Tim Landreth of TWL Motorsports provide invaluable guidance and top-notch motors, ensuring we're well-equipped for every event. Robert Still's superior clutches and Frank Bondatti's expertise in tire treatment with his liquid speed have also been instrumental in our success.

We also thank our pit crew, who get us to and from the grid, wash tires, and perform various other tasks; you are greatly appreciated. We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, including TWL Motorsports, Helms Septic, Muchoos Construction, Mozingo Home, and Barrett's Lawn Care. We look forward to the opportunities the rest of the season will bring.

🎂🥳Happy Birthday, Noah Doss! 🥳🎂

It’s incredible to see how far you’ve come from that little 11-year-old rookie who started racing back in 2011. Over the years, you’ve won hundreds of races and claimed 18 championships—a true testament to your dedication and skill. You’ve grown not just as a driver, still winning races, but also as an essential part of the team, becoming a successful tire man for both us and others in the pits. And now, with your future racer son Bentley starting to hit the track, it’s clear that the racing legacy is in great hands. Here’s to celebrating all your amazing achievements and the exciting road ahead! Noah Doss

Last Saturday, April 25th, was our second race of the year at Stateline Speedway. Unfortunately, we only made it through qualifying, and then the rains set in. Our qualifying efforts ended up being our finishing positions for the race, which was not bad. Cameron picked up the win in Ducar 360 after qualifying on the pole, with our first-time driver Blake Pike qualifying 3rd in the same race. In the Ducar 390 warmup, Noah qualified 2nd, with Cameron 6th, and in Ducar 390 points, Noah was once again 2nd and Cameron 4th.

This weekend saw first time driver Blake Pike moving from running derby cars on Saturdays to trying out go-karting. In his practice sessions, he made tremendous improvements and got the hang of it pretty quickly. I'm sure we will see him back behind the wheel again soon.

Our success on the track wouldn't be possible without the support and expertise of numerous individuals contributing to our success. First and foremost, God for giving us the ability to do what we love and keeping us safe. Noah Doss who works tirelessly to consistently provide exceptional tires to both karts, which is the most important piece of the puzzle to win races. His expertise enables himself and Cameron to maintain a competitive edge. Henry Murray and Tim Landreth of TWL Motorsports for their invaluable guidance and top-notch motors, ensuring we're well-equipped for every event. Robert Still's superior clutches and Frank Bondatti's expertise in tire treatment with his liquid speed have also been instrumental in our success.

We must also thank our pit crew, who get us to and from the grid, wash tires, and perform various other tasks; you are greatly appreciated. We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, including TWL Motorsports, Helms Septic, Muchoos Construction, Mozingo Home, and Barrett's Lawn Care. Pre-race hype at Friendship Speedway this past Saturday. Bentley did great for his second time at a big car track. They do things a little differently than the kart tracks, as they race around cones on the front stretch, which was a little confusing for him. Nonetheless, he drove great, and after all the dust settled in the 2-4 year old race, he was credited with 2nd place due to the confusion with keeping track of who was where.

🏁Hurd Racing with 1-2 finish at Stateline🏁

We opened the season on April 11th with a 1-2 finish in Pro Ducar 390 at Stateline Speedway. At Daytona and Williamston, Noah and Cameron started competing as teammates in the Ducar classes, with both drivers showing speed and success; Noah not only had the role of driver but also served as the tire man for both karts. In Pro Ducar 390, Cameron started on the pole with Noah third. Cameron was fast off the start, but Noah had the long-run speed and, by the end of the race, had closed to within less than a kart length, though he ultimately ran out of laps, resulting in a 1-2 finish; the fourth photo shows how close the finish was. In the warm-up race, it was much the same, with Cameron second and Noah third. In Ducar 360, Cameron ran without his teammate, started on the pole, and finished second. Overall, it was a great night for our team, not finishing out of the top three. Notably, Noah not only enjoys running up front and winning as a driver but is also now regularly winning as a tire man for himself and Cameron while also helping other teams with their tire programs.

This accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support and expertise of numerous individuals contributing to our success at the track. First and foremost, Noah Doss consistently provides exceptional tires, enabling himself and Cameron to maintain a competitive edge. Henry Murray of TWL Motorsports offers invaluable guidance and top-notch motors, ensuring we're well-equipped for every event. During the 2005 racing season, we switched to more racing with the Briggs & Stratton Animal engine. At that time, our regular engine builder, Garrett Racing Engines, wasn't building Animal engines. Our first stop was Eddie Bryant, but after a teardown and not getting our engine back after weeks, we made the switch to Jackie Leake. We had always had a good relationship with Jackie, as he was the person who helped us get started in karting. When I needed a good used junior kart in 2002, he put us in touch with Jerry Craddock and Donnie Nall, from whom we purchased our first chassis, the Olimpic 007. For the first few years, Jackie and Jerry McMichael were our go-to guys when we needed something. I considered Jackie a good friend and enjoyed the time spent in his shop, just shooting the breeze and listening to his stories. Jackie helped us so much for many years, and he didn't care whose motor we ran; he was always a phone call or short ride away. We must never forget the people who helped us along the way.

🏁🏆 🏆🏁

Hurd Racing's tenth anniversary in 2012 was distinguished by Noah Doss's outstanding performance, securing over 50 wins and four track championships across Riverside Raceway Park and Providence Raceway in his first full season. Specifically, Noah won two championships at each track. The photos depict the Providence Raceway banquet, where Noah was awarded his first leather jacket and Van Hurd was recognized for his achievements as Crew Chief of the Year.

Last Saturday, Bentley participated in the Juicebox race at North Carolina Speedweek, held at Friendship Motor Speedway. This race was his first experience on a large car track. Although the Juicebox race was intended to be a front-stretch cone race, Bentley deviated from the plan and started to drive around the entire track. Track officials redirected him through the infield and back around. Despite not completing the planned laps, Bentley clearly enjoyed racing on his own terms.
