Creatine for Perimenopause & Menopause

As estrogen levels decline in perimenopause and menopause, many women may experience:

​- Reduced neuromuscular efficiency
​- Slower recovery
​- Increased muscle protein breakdown
​- Greater risk of sarcopenia and bone loss

This is where creatine shifts from being a performance supplement to a foundational support nutrient.

Research shows that postmenopausal women who supplement with creatine during resistance training gain more lean mass and strength than those who train without it. Larger trials also suggest creatine helps preserve muscle quality and training capacity as we age.

Creatine supports:
​- Muscle protein synthesis
​- Training intensity despite reduced recovery capacity
​- Neuromuscular signaling
​- Structural components of bone (when paired with resistance training)

Ed Kleiman

This Client Spotlight is all about Ed—someone who, from the moment I met him, showed exactly what it means to stay committed, keep showing up, and put in the work at any age!

I have known Ed for about 3 years now. Working with him and watching him grow and become more confident has been such a pleasure!

After moving to Maynard several years ago, Ed, now 76, was ready for a fresh start with his fitness. He signed himself up and began what has now become a meaningful and consistent training journey.

Ed has shown tremendous commitment and effort in every session. Despite navigating the natural challenges of aging—including arthritis, a sensitive back, and more recently, recovery from a stroke—he continues to show up, work hard, and adapt with a positive mindset. His willingness to push forward, even on the hard days, is extraordinary!

With a little guidance and his own dedication, he has continued to rebuild strength, confidence, and resilience—proving that progress isn’t about doing what you used to do, but about showing up and doing what you can do today.

Ed has a wonderful wife, Nancy, and together they enjoy travel and, most importantly, family time with their children and grandchildren. Ed also likes to play poker, have dinner with friends, and do anything else that involves his large social circle.

I genuinely feel lucky to have met him.

Thank you, Ed, for always showing up, forcing me to listen to ’60s music, and making me smile every week.

If you’re bored with the same routine and want something that actually keeps you motivated, our Small Group Circuit Training Classes are exactly what you need!

💪 45 minutes of fun, high-energy training
You’ll move through a dynamic mix of strength, cardio, balance, core, and stretching—hitting every part of your body in a way that feels more like fun than work.

⚡ Fast-paced, upbeat, and energizing!
No two classes are the same, and the energy in the room keeps you pushing without even realizing it!

👥 Small groups = better results
We keep classes under 8–10 people, so everyone stays safe, gets personal attention, and performs exercises the right way.
