Being in sales my whole life, I've developed several short sayings to go by, such as;

Do it now

Effort = Results

I was a student and then a teacher at Dale Carnegie.

So MANY stories happen each week at racetracks all over AMERICA. This is one incident
that I want to thank four people that helped me this past weekend.

I was in the staging lanes, when a friend who knew I wasn't feeling 100%, plus I had a broken right foot and got the boot off last month. He asked me if I needed anything. This was right before the 4th round. I said, “If I win this round, I need one gallon of gas in my generator as it was just about dry.”

I won the fourth round and came back to my pit area, and there were four guys with gas, and the battery charger ready to hook up to my black 442. Two pretty girls on golf cars were also there. They got the car all hooked up and I turned my fans on to cool my hot race engine. I sat down, and the next I know is they showed with a big fan and plugged that into my generator and that helped cool me down.

Next round I had the car dialed perfectly but somehow went red by a freckle. I drove back to my pit area and these four guys were waiting. The guided me on my trailer and unison they each grabbed a ratchet strap and it was tied down and the ramps were stored under the bed. Next thing, everything was put in the trailer, generator, chairs, air compressor. Etc.

I want to publicly show some sincere appreciation to Rustin Scott, Rick Scott, David England, and Ben Cook of the Scott Bros Racing team for helping this old man out that past Saturday. It was fun, just wish I could have gone a couple more rounds.

Yesterday, I mentioned teammate Joe Brown won the PRO Category at US 131MSP. We were so happy for him. Look at yesterday's photo and look at all of his fans.
After they took the big photo, they were asked if they wanted a family photo. While they were getting
that photo ready, Joe and Brandy asked me to be in the photo, too. WOW. That was special for me.

We had team members break valve train components, torque convertors and neutral safety switch wires. As a team we went a lot of rounds as several entered PRO and SUPER PRO classes.

Team owner/and long-time drag racer himself, Phil Veldheer (since 1967) did pretty well for an old
man and made it to the quarter finals in the SUPER PRO class ( 7 cars left) before a perfect dial in, but a red light made him put it on the trailer for the day. Veldheer took home a check from the track for his efforts, but not as big as the one Joe Brown got. His opponent went on to win the class.

I know for a fact that Veldheer didn't sleep well last night as he ran that losing round over and over in his head.

Teammate Donnie Hagar went to Mid Michigan Motorplex for their big dollar event on Saturday and made it to the fourth round. Both US 131 and MMM canceled because of rain on Sunday.

The next race some of us are attending is the Michigander triple 20's. $20.000.00 to win each day next week, June 18-21. We have several team members who could win a race at this event.

The next bracket race for points at US 131 MSP for our team, Donnie Hagar, Mark Howard, Stan Jones, Billy Brown, Ken Bosch, Joe Brown, Dan Gorby, and Tim Howard, is the Independence Invitational on July 3-5
