TEACHER SPOTLIGHT ✨ JENNIFER PROTIVNAK

Jennifer (or Jenn) has been practicing yoga almost every day for almost 15 years. Her practice is rooted in about 7 years of fully home-based yoga. As a self-proclaimed “Movement Enthusiast”, Jennifer loves movement of all kinds - yoga (of course), hiking, biking, swimming, running, climbing, strength training, and playing any sport - but especially soccer or volleyball.

Jennifer became a 200hr certified yoga teacher in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Rocket yogic styles in April of 2021. Her favorite yoga classes to teach are creative Vinyasas & workshops focused on strength and skill building, as well as flexibility in yoga. Her classes offer students physically challenging flows that often work toward a peak pose.

She joined the Yoga On Mars community as a student in September 2022 and has loved both practicing and teaching here ever since! You can catch one of her classes at the studio Saturday mornings or Monday evenings.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT ✨MARISSA MADIA

Meet Marissa! Marissa began regularly practicing yoga as a form of exercise, and instantly noticed the sense of inner peace it brought her. Marissa believes that the benefits of yoga enhance all areas of her life. Off the mat, she works as an environmental scientist, and in her free time you can find her hiking with her dog!

Marissa has been teaching yoga since 2016. She completed her 200 hour certification through Yoga Flow, Pittsburgh, and continued her education to receive her 300 hour certification through Yoga Farm Ithaca. In her classes, students can expect creative sequences, linking breath with movement, with her slower classes incorporating mindfulness and gentle modifications.

Marissa recently gave birth to a baby girl and is enjoying her time as a first time mom. Keep an eye out for her name on the schedule as a sub when she returns!
