Strong ankles = better force into the ground. ⚡️
Your foot and ankle are the first thing that touches the ground when performing any athletic movement. If they are weak or lack mobility, you won’t be able to produce and transfer force effectively in your sport.
Here are 6 ankle isometrics we use to challenge athletes from different positions and force angles.
Get into position → push into the wall HARD → don’t let the ankle collapse.
These can help develop ankle strength/stiffness, improve the ability to tolerate and transfer force, and expose the lower leg to positions athletes experience during acceleration, jumping and change of direction.
Try 1–3 sets of 3–5 second MAX-effort pushes in each position.
