The current rainy and cold weather, while putting a damper on the Memorial Day Celebrations, is somewhat apropos reminding us all of the very purpose honoring our country's heroes and thinking of conditions they all endured during their service to country.
We are reminded every year to remember and honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for family and country.
I also salute all uniformed men and women who continue to serve in both the armed services and civilian roles as Police, Firemen and Emergency service that allows us to continue to enjoy the very principles of a free and democratic society which we all have been afforded by those that we remember today.
PERSPECTIVE ON THIS COLD AND RAINY WEEKEND ...
YOUR DAY AT THE BBQ OR YOUR DAY AT THE BEACH …
IS BECAUSE OF THEIR DAY IN WWII AT THE BEACH … OMAHA BEACH , UTAH BEACH ..
There are 9,386 graves in the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. Each grave faces west, toward America.
It is the Soldier, not the Reporter ; Who has given us Freedom of the Press ...
It is the Soldier, not the Clergyman ; Who has given us the Freedom of Religion ...
It is the Soldier, not the Poet ; Who has given us the Freedom of Speech ...
It is the Soldier ... not the Campus Organizer ; Who has given us the Freedom of Demonstrate ...
It is the Soldier ... Who Follows our Flag into Battle, Who Defends our Flag; Who Salutes our Flag, and Whose coffin is draped with our Flag ...
It is the Soldier... It has always been the Soldier. And it will always be the Soldier ...
It’s about the ...
625,000 Americans killed in the Civil War.
The 116,000 Americans killed in WWI.
The 405,000 Americans killed in WWII.
The 36,000 Americans killed in the Korean War.
The 58,000 Americans killed in the Vietnam War.
The 2,300 Americans killed in the Afghanistan War.
The 4,500 Americans killed in the Iraq war.
And all the Americans killed in other wars.
Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice. And thank you for being willing to die for your country. I salute each and every one of you and your families.
God Bless the USA !!!
