I quick work shop vid on grip safety removal.

I am finishing up with blending a grip safety for a 5" mono coned comp. I wanted to share some info that some of my new Clients might not know.

My grip safeties are designed and fit so they can be removed without removing the main spring housing.

Completely murdered-out monolith 9mm commander with a bull barrel and a C2 grip module. The C2 grip requires a longer grip safety to properly fill the gap at the MSH and a longer hammer strut to prevent hammer wiggle.

The slide stop pin reduction modification uses a #5 link. The reduced recoil allows the pistol to run an 18lb main & a 12lb recoil spring. Typically my commanders use a 20 & 16.

Polished grip safety.
A soft 11 degree full crown on the polished bull barrel.
Polished serrations ghosted into the frame.
A keyed recoil plug fills in the gap below the barrel.
Stippled slide top with a blended & beveled front sight.
The bottom of the frame at the trigger guard is rounded off.
The sharp edge on the top of the light rail is removed.
DLC'd magazine tubes.

As always a Surefire light.

I purposely staged this pic to show-case some of the most important people in my life as well as the industry. If you are any way connected to the firearm industry you know that these are the SALT of the earth people! People that you would be lucky to call
friends.

The pistol is a "Truck Gun" that I offered for a few years. This pistol has been sent for testing to ALL the kewl people, all over the country, to ALL the kewl agencies and has @ 20k rounds through it. EVERY person that shoots it; wants to buy it! It is by far my favorite build and I keep it next to my bed. A blued 5" bone stock 9mm 2011!

The glass with the Yamakasi (Client gift) was gifted from Eric when he moved to FL to start-up his Marvel rebuild factory. My boy is killing it. Good luck getting on his books! We are both committed to doing bespoke custom builds by hand, no cnc, to the highest tolerances achievable.

We are both trying our best to change the path and expectations of high-end custom pistols. You shouldnt have to fit your hand to a high-end pistol,The pistol should fit your hand!

I typically spend @ 5hrs per Client, pre build, ensuring their build is what they visualize. I also offer the option to shoot the pistol in the white before it is finished to ensure it is a perfect fit for their hand.

Work Bench Pics - Adam's new uspsa build.

Its about 80% finished. A lot left to do; shoot it for function, clean up all the bevels, sand it up, crown the front, ect.

The island barrel has been laser welded and lapped into the slides ID for proper barrel fit.
Slide stop reduced pin modification.
The serrations are squared off and ghosted into the frame.

The small upper lip on the frame's light has been removed except for the rear portion that is used as a mechanical lock on the custom thumb rest.

Keyed recoil plug with a full length guide rod.
Magwell is softened and blended.
The optic plate is blended into the tri-cut slide.
The grip safety is pinned and the memory bump removed.
The checkering on the Infinity MSH has been removed.
Lowered non ejection port.
Blended Atlas high-ride thumb safeties.
The underside of the frame is rounded off where it meets the Infinity grip.

A two barrel 2011 9mm monolith EDC 3.9" stroked slide with a 4.25" coned compd barrel and fit with one slide stop.

The Client asked me to help release this back into the wild.

The light rail was removed.
Satin and matte blasted for a subtle 2 tone affect.

Very low round count, comes with an SRO, two mags, two barrels, ect.

A 5" compd 2011 with some old school vibes created from the mind of AJP's youth. If you know AJP, this pistol will be run hard and will have a really high round count with his 147gr very quickly.

It is very difficult to maintain Marvel tolerances on a super soft 9mm and have it run reliably & accurately. Everything has to be fit to within an angel's kiss. Also, the pistol still needs to function with decent strength springs to eliminate light primer strikes, fail to eject, fail to feed, ect.

NOTHING can have a hard rub or it will slow down the slide and cause failures. The ejector, the slide stop nose, the barrel legs on the slide stop pin, the barrel hood, the rear of the comp to the slide's face, the guide rod & the recoil plug, rounds cannot stall on the barrel's feed ramp, rounds cannot hang up under the extractor, muzzle OD has to have a perfect fit to the slides ID without having bounce back or too tight that it sticks during unlocking, ect.

A lot of these items are non issues if the build has looser tolerances.

Stippled stroked 4.25" slide , 3/4" coned comp, Mercier blood grooves on top, a shovel style ball cut, thin 1/16" ball-cut serrations, French border, with frag patterned fully blended & beveled front sight.

Slide stop pin reduction modification for softer recoil impulse and a longer lock-up with a high cut & stippled bottom ledge.
Extended recoil plug for the use of a government length spring.
The frame is rolled & blended into the trigger guard of the grip module.
The light rail's small sharp top ledge was removed.
The top of the frames dust cover & the bottom of the slide are both beveled to create a pin stripe.
Full bevels on the front, rear, beavertail, and ejection port.
The grip safety is pinned, polished and the memory bump removed.
Everglades serrated trigger at 2lb 5oz.
Mag catch is stippled and angled up & back.
Magwell is blended and has a polished bottom ring.
Full matte black DLC.

Custom DLC'd Bond 357 derringer, straightened, sanded & polished. It was a ton of work to straighten out all those lines !!!!

A blacked out 5" monolith with a 4" slide, Infinity island barrel & custom 1" sight block with ghosted serrations.

Tri-cut and stippled slide with polished serrations, & lowered non ejection port side. The island "slot" edges are blunted to prevent any risk of cutting your hand.

Cheely alum aggressive grip blended into the frame with a AJP trigger guard & modified tear drop mag catch button.
Scalloped & polished grip safety.
Optic plate is blended into the tricut top and the bottom is beveled to match the tricut sides.
Front sight has a frag pattern.
Serrated everglades trigger.
Magwell has a polished bottom ring & the edges are softened.
All The Bevels !

Work Bench Update Pics: Two Slides - One Frame - One Slide Stop. Remove the slide stop, swap slides & keep shooting.

Both slides are fit to .0002 side to side & .0018 up/down. The one slide stop is fit to both barrel's legs with full light touch. Both slides use the same main spring.

The 2-piece guide rods keep the recoil springs captured in each slide. This helps from mixing up the recoil springs & helps to keep your hands cleaner when swapping out slides.
Two piece guide rods are used to get a perfect flushed look on the front.

Ghosted serrations on the frame line up with both slides.
A 5" oal Infinity island barrel with 1/2" sight block.
A 5" oal Kart with 3/4" coned comp.
Infinity honeycomb steel grip with the checkering on the MSH removed & scalloped pinned grip safety with the memory bump removed. The bottom of the frame is rounded above the trigger guard to better blend into the grip.

I still need to add a front sight to the sight block, bevels on the front, crown the SB & comp, trim the guide rods, clean up the slide stop, sand and clean up all the little things, shoot it for function, blast it up, & send it out for DLC.

A DLCd murdered-out Dark Saber 4.5" OAL with 1/2" coned comp. No Gaps !

Polished ghosted serrations.
blood grooves on stippled slide top.
Blended & beveled front sight.
MJD grip with aggressive Boresight stipple, & ALP trigger undercut.
Polished & pinned grip safety. *Client wanted to keep the memory bump.
Slide stop pin reduction modification for reduced recoil.
Slide stop is undercut and stippled.
French border does NOT cut through the bevels.
Magcatch is stippled and angled up & back.
Beveled ejection port and beavertail.
Matching bevels on the slides bottom & the top of frames dust cover.
Two 126mm DLCd magazines.
One 140mm DLCd magazine.
Custom slide cutoff paper weight.
Surefire when you need the best light!
