Monolith ported coned comp with polished gator teeth serrations.

Infinity steel grip with AJP trigger guard blend. All the edges are blended to the frame. The bottom of the frame was rounded off around the trigger guard to prevent hot spots.

Polished pinned grip safety.
The Infinity checkering was removed from the MSH and polished.
Infinity logo was removed from the magwell and polished.
The non ejection port side was lowered and beveled.
The optic plate is blended to the slide top and the bottom of the plate is cut to a 45 to match the tricut.
The comp ports are beveled.
The small upper ridge on the light rail was removed and beveled.

Work Bench Pics - Weekend Update
I put in some time over the weekend on the 2-tone bobtail commander #0001. Ill shoot it for front sight height and function. Then its time to clean up all the sanding and bevels. The full stainless bottom will be satin blasted and the carbon top will be black DLCd.

Not sure if I want a french border cut or keep it clean and simple. Might also run a bobbed hammer. I also need to replace the stainless sear pin that is a bit short.

I used a 1/4" end mill for a tighter BHP cut and left the ball cut on the dust cover a but short for a taller look.

I removed a lot of material around the trigger area.
Beveled ejection port, front & rear, slide bottom, beavertail, and trigger guard.
Optic plates front bumper is radiused to the slide top.

Work Bench Pics - I decided to make something on Serial #0001.

An old school 1911 bobtail commander with full stainless lower & carbon steel upper. I will satin blast the stainless and black DLC the upper.

I am considering doing a clean simple Browning high power cut and an old school ball cut on the dust cover. The reduced slide stop pin makes it shoot super soft which allows me to use weak springs and makes racking the slide very easy.

The HD is super low. I trimmed back a tool-less guide rod flush to the plug. Slide stop reduced pin modification, blended front sight, & lowered shelf thumb safety.

Shot it for function today and yanked the 4th shot -Sigh !!!
Time to clean it up, do ALL the bevels and cut the front sight.

Work Bench Pics - The steps for a blended front sight on a 2-tone 9mm 1911 bushing commander.
A manual Bridgeport mill requires a very light touch and do not turn the Y the wrong way!

Shoot it for function and then cut the front sight for POA /POI.

Tri-Cut 4.5" Island barrel with welded sight block with 11 degree crown.

Polished ghosted serrations. The frames shallow ghosted serrations have the same depth as the slides main serrations.

STI grip with Boresight stipple and an AJP blended trigger guard.
Frame is rounded off above the grip module.
Polished and scalloped grip safety.
Non ejection port side is dropped.
Optic plate is blended to the tri-cut and notched in the rear to allow the hammer to function.
Mag catch is cut up & back.
Slide stop has a pin reduction to delay unlocking & soften recoil and the paddle is under-cut for better access
Magazines are DLC'd as are the small pins that hold the base plates.
Beveled ejection port, front, rear, and beavertail.

Surefire is the preferred light for my pistols.

Work Bench Pics - Aluminum 9mm commander with Acc-U-Rail & Vulcan aluminum custom flush-cut grip. Heading out to shoot it in the white for any ergonomic changes.

The grip is flush-cut to accept 120mm magazines.
Shallow serrations are ghosted into the frames dust cover for aesthetics only so they wont interfere with racking the slide.
Only the bottom rear portion of the slide is beveled to prevent any slide bite.
Scalloped beavertail & pinned grip safety.
Custom trigger shoe to fit the Vulcan grip.
The optic plate is blended to the tri-cut with the bottom sides cut to 45 degrees.
The HD is dropped extremely low.
11 degree crown on the muzzle.
The extended slide stop is trimmed to blend into the grip module and has a reduced pin diameter to soften the recoil.
The bottom of the frame above the trigger guard is rounded off to prevent hot spots.
The small top edge of the frames light rail is removed to clean up the front.
A keyed recoil plug closes up the gap under the barrel cone.

Work Bench Pics - After shooting it for function I will do the serrations, add an 11 degree crown the barrel, clean up the bevels and sand it up.

The extended slide stop has our reduced slide stop pin modification.

The round dots on the rear of the slide are the acc-u-rails.

The coned barrel is fit to .0005 ( < 1/3 of a human hair) to the slide ID.

The Client has opted to go NO Iron sights to keep the build slick & clean. I need to mill off the rear iron sight.

If you use a light on your pistol, make sure it's a Surefire.

Work Bench Pics - finishing up the mechanicals on the commander alum accurail tricut edc.

The Tri-Cut's 45's and top are cut to equal depths.
The muzzles bearing surface is lapped to .0005 to the slide's ID.
A Bow-Tie recoil plug fills in the gap underneath the barrel.

Extractor is properly fit. The hook should not touch the case. Having the hook as far as possible from the breechface allows more time for the case to shrink before it is "ripped" out of the chamber. This reduces stress on the hook.

The optic plate is cut as low as possible for an HD and the front bumper is blended to the slide. Keeping the Tri-Cut theme; the side's bottom and the rear iron sight are both cut to a 45.

The small sharp top edge of the light rail is removed.
The frame's bottom trigger guard area above the grip module is rounded off to prevent hot spots.

Work Bench Pics --
Aluminum Vulcan grip, flush-cut on an alum acc-u-rail frame. This is for a Commander monolith tri-cut EDC.

I used a Charyn Precision grip safety; scalloped. I am not a fan of the Vulcan grip safety.

Blending steel with aluminum can get tricky. It is very easy to blow through the softer aluminum.
