1️⃣ Not knowing your actual stock carry yardage: Your stock yardage isn’t the single longest strike you’ve ever hit—it’s the average distance of all your shots, including off-center hits. Outside of 100 yards, amateurs miss the green short almost every single time because they club for their absolute best hit instead of their real average. 📊⛳️
2️⃣ Overthinking mechanics instead of focusing on impact: The ball doesn’t care if your lead arm bends slightly or if your backswing looks picture-perfect. Impact comes down to the Big Three:
solid ground contact, clubface direction, and centered face contact. If your mechanical tweaks aren’t directly improving one of these three, you’re just wasting time. 🛑💥
3️⃣ Ignoring your dispersion cone: Aiming straight at every flag and hoping for the best is a recipe for missed greens. You need to get on a Foresight GCQuad, TrackMan, or Toptracer range to map your true dispersion pattern. Once you know whether your misses bias left or right, you can aim the center of your dispersion cone over the safest part of the green to give yourself the highest probability of hitting GIR. 📐🎯
