🔥 Between them, Delaney Schrager and Isabella Blue established 10 career records during their time in a Longmeadow uniform.

From their first varsity games in 2023 to their final season in 2026, they helped lead one of the most successful stretches in program history while cementing their place in the Longmeadow Softball record book.

We are disappointed to report that our season has officially come to end. Although we were informed that our points were valid and the situation was unfortunate, the protest was not made before the umpires left the field so the appeal could not be reviewed on its merits.

It's definitely not the way we hoped to end our most successful season in 15 years, but it in no way diminishes the incredible success and impressive accomplishments of these amazing athletes. We also couldn't have done it without that amazing support of our families, friends and this amazing community!

Great things are ahead for this program and these dedicated players and we look forward to seeing you all on the field again next season! !!

An official appeal for review of an umpire's decision was submitted to the MIAA Tuesday morning on behalf of Longmeadow High School Softball regarding a ruling that occurred in the bottom of the 10th inning of our Division 2 Round of 32 tournament game.

We believe the reversal of the original call, which had a significant impact on the outcome of the game, was inconsistent with NFHS Rule 10-2, Article 2, which states that the field umpire has primary responsibility for calls at first and second base. In this instance, the original call at first base was made by the field umpire, who had a clear and unobstructed view of the play.

The subsequent reversal followed an appeal of what we believe was a judgment call, which is not subject to appeal under NFHS rules. Additionally, the plate umpire, whose view of first base appeared to be obstructed, participated in overturning the original ruling despite being in a less favorable position to evaluate the play.

We have requested an immediate formal review of the ruling and its application under NFHS rules, including the reversal of the final out recorded in the bottom of the 10th inning.

It was not the outcome we wanted and the way it ended was unfortunate and controversial, but thank you to MassLive.com High School Sports and Samantha Sands for for her fair and complete coverage of our hard-fought, 10-inning State Tournament game and thank you to the incredible fans who filled Russell Field to watch the last game of our incredible 2026 season. Best record in 15 years! 🫶

A bang-bang call in the bottom of the 10th inning brought the extra innings battle to an end in the Red Rocketeers' favor.

Congratulations to the Longmeadow Lancers (14-6) who finished 2026 ranked No. 14 in the MIAA Division 2 State Power Rankings, completing one of their most successful seasons in the history of the program! They also secured an automatic bid to the State Championship Tournament and home field for their Round of 32 game‼️ Stay tuned for details and ‼️
